28 Day Prayer Journey To Passion 07 - Day 27

Day 27. Details.

We shouldn't be surprised to know that God is a part of every aspect of our lives. He's not too busy (He doesn't sleep), uninterested (He's here with us), high and mighty (He's a servant-King), overloaded (He knows the names of all the stars) or ambivalent (He gave His best for us) to be connected to the small stuff. While He is a "big picture God," He's "intimately acquainted with all our ways." Psalm 139:3.

God is specific (check out all the genealogies and lists in the Bible). He is into microscopic things. He first split the atom. And there is no detail in your life today too small for Him to know and care about.

That's good news as many little pieces are assembled into Passion 07 today! So find something small to pray about or rejoice in:
We survived yesterday with only one broken finger (a crew member building the GWCC Arena).
Cheryl is feeling better.
There is no other virus outbreak that we know about.
Thousands of resources are being organized into an amazing store.
Eight interactive Pods (huge) are being built to house Global Awakening and the Do Something Now Campaign.
People are buying towels right now at Walmarts across the nation.
24,000 registration packets are being put together, all with various wristbands, maps, etc..
Our production crew is finishing the GWCC Arena today. They will have to wait until after midnight New Year's Eve to start on Phillips due to Widespread Panic shows tonight and tomorrow night.
We will pack Phillips Arena 24 hours after two Widespread Panic shows!!!
The Chick-fil-A Bowl is happening next door in the GA Dome tonight (and parade today!).
We are negotiating Widespread Panic and Bowl crowds!
The weather has been semi-mild and dry for load in so far. Maybe rain tonight?
The forecast for next week is mostly dry and mild-cool!
20 Community group settings are being brought to life.
Over 30 Team Leaders are cranking at full speed. (Their pics/names are in a December post).
Volunteers are coming to help for the day.
Over 1000 other volunteers are coming for the week.
Thousands of students are rockin the Omni right now at Crusade's Impact Conference.
Urbana's going strong in St, Louis with over 22,000. (Lots more details there!).
More Crusade Conferences are in full swing. (More details).
Other conferences are happening everywhere. (Many more details).

Father, it's amazing that You see and know us all. Teach us today to pray about the smallest things. For Jesus' sake, who was the specific answer to hundreds of promises (details), Amen.

“All this” said David, “the LORD made me understand in writing by His hand upon me, all the details of this pattern.” Then David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and courageous, and act; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD is finished." 1 Chronicles 28:19-20

  • oooh man, great post. i love the fact that widespread panic is playin in phillips before passion takes over. that's awesome. God is amazing, He is going to see us through!! my bag is nearly packed :)

Father, i pray as all of us college students come to passion that you break down our walls so that we share these microscopic details of our lives & realize that they are important, and that you care about them. thank you, so much, for caring.

  • Dollar General has bath towels 2 for $5! I just bought 6 for my husband, me (volunteers) and our college daughter. Can't wait to be in Atlanta as God and 20,000+ college students invade! What a privilege!

  • Thank you leaders and volunteers for making a way for us to come. You are greatly appreciated! Today all of the final details for my friends and me are being completed to depart tomorrow morning from warm Florida.

Father, the enemy has certainly come on strong to hinder this journey to Atlanta and even more my heart from being open and passionate toward you. I'm sure that this is true in the lives of others in these last few weeks. Make us purely receptive to all that you have for us for your glory. Help us to see past the distractions and the troubles to glimpse your perfect light. You truly are the best. Needing you, Amen.

  • Our collge group has had two cancellations. Is anyone interested in going w/ the College Age Sunday School Class from Osborne Baptist Church in Eden, NC? Free registration and a place to stay. We could even pick you up if you live close to I-85 South. Our desire is for two college students to be able to go that would not be able to otherwise. Email me at stevens4christ@yahoo.com

  • I am praying for the rigging crews setting up the Philips Arena on New Year's Eve!

    Father,
please hold these men and women in your hands and help them to see the knots, the lifts, the lights as all part of glorifying you. I pray that the house crew at Philips would be touched by the power of your name, your Spirit, and the gift of your Son. Please bless them with speed, safety, and attention to the details just as you have. In your holy and precious name,
    Amen.

  • It just overwhelms me that the God of the Universe, the one who created all things is concerned even about the little things in each of our lives. We sometimes think He's helping us through the big things, but oh no he's helping us all throughout our journey in making His name known.

For all who are involved in making Passion happen i pray for your safety and the will for you all to get through this weekend in setting up. I just bought three more towels to add to my bunch. God bless you all who coming to Passion 07 and also for the people in Urbana and all the other conferences around the world.

  • God You are widespread joy!

    In Your hand is power and might;
In Your hand it is to make great
And to give strength to all
    I Chronicles 29:12

Lord let Passion shine like a jewel set in the city by Your Hand...let it brilliantly reflect your power and might and wonder. Amen!

  • Target has bath towels for $1.99 each, and they're nice ones, too - I bought one a couple months ago and it's my favorite! Needless to say, I stocked up on a few more to bring, along with some socks on clearance!

Father God, thank You for answered prayers x thousands - make that, times infinity!! You are AWESOME, for lack of a better word! Thank you for safety in the set-up so far and for health among the leadership team (Cheryl's improved health in particular). Please continue to protect the leaders and volunteers as they continue set-up and preparation, and cover all who are traveling. Please prepare the hearts of each attendee. And thank You for all you are doing right now at Urbana, Campus Crusade, and other conferences!

  • Father, I thank you for the Global Awakening and Touch Atlanta. I pray we are encouraged to be a generation of change, to be a generation with a heart to help others and use our faith to help make a better world.
Only You can solve the problems of the world, but we can love our neighbors everyday, just as You commanded us to do.
I pray this week will shine a light on "how and why to die to self, reach out, and lovingly and prayerfully care for all of God's precious creation, on every possible level."
May a revolution of love rise in our hearts this week - for the people of Atlanta, for our neighbors at home and for the oppressed and precious people who are treated unjustly all over the world.
I can't wait to see how You is going to mold each of us this week.

  • Oh my word. I needed that post today. Thank You, Lord.

Wow God looks big when you realize how involved He is in the small things!

And I'm amazed. It's okay with God that we need Him (LOTS of details there). In other words, He made us to need Him and He is glad to be the answer to our needs. We know this, but it's amazing to think about...and easy to forget when you're running eighteen million errands like I was today-like all of y'all are volunteering and setting up for next week. We sing it all the time, but God really is indescribable.

And it all goes back to the "rest" posts from a bit back. Let God do the work. Yeah I have to coopoerate, but I don't rely on myself to do His will. And I certainly can't rely on me to get all the details done.

Than it goes to worshipping in every moment. Romans 12:1-2. I'm sitting here listening to "Famous One." "With every breath I'm praising You." How freeing...(because) how great is our God.

Thank you, Mr. Giglio. Praying for all you guys assembling details! Especially Christi and Erica!

    Blessings on you all!

  • Yep. My Wal-Mart towels are packed and ready to join the rest in Atlanta - even if they do take up some space! That's a blessing, though, because it will leave a lot of room in the suitcase to lug back all the resources from the amazing store that is being assembled!

  • ok, i've read posts alot and comments, and for some reason now, i'm commenting myself. i just got back to wichita, kansas after flying into kansas city from chicago. in 24 hours i will have gone from chicago to kansas city to wichita to atlanta, and i'm feeling a bit jaded, a little tired, a bit more excited and a bit anxious dealing with connecting flights, flying standby, doing laundry right now, and getting in a few bills. but god is here and now and there with you (whoever and wherever you are) and i'm ready to jump into something big, something god has been brewing for millenia...this is going to be good. i'm praying for all of us to make safe trips and for all the peeps going near denver to get through with mild tempers and to find rest somehow. this should be good. jesus, thank you for bringing us all together....may we get a glimpse of heaven next week and be reminded what you can do through us on earth. amen.

  • Thank you Lord that you are a God who cares about the little things, the details of each of our lives. I pray for every person reading this blog, that you would grace them with a surprise blessing in a 'little thing in their life'. that they would fully know it comes from you... Your attentiveness to our 'little things'and is a reflection of your great Love for us :) You are so faithful!

Lord I ask that you be in every detail yet to come together for P07. The tasks we are aware of, (all the logistical & technical aspects, the setup and preparations in many different areas to make the areas a smooth experience so the focus can be on You. Also for all those in leadership, that you would give them great wisdom and foresite in their areas. Give them peace in the midst of business and vision to see how to prioritize best. For those who will be presenting, and serving in worship, we ask that you would give each one of them a clarity of what you would have them to communicate. That you would use them as vessels to pour through. We also ask You be present in the details in Your plans here that we know nothing about.... Placing certian people on community groups together who form relationships that they may challenge and bless one another. For every person coming thru the doors to have their hearts soften, a hunger & thirst for more of You stirred inside them, and their eyes opened to what You would have them to learn and apply.
    Blessings all!
