LA Love

LA definitely got on board with Passion's Do Something Now Campaign, wedding worship and justice in amazing ways. 2260 towels and 10,500 pairs of socks were distributed to LA area shelters as a way of extending the Kingdom to the homeless of the city. In addition, $54,000 was given to build 18 wells for African villages. And LA was the partner city for the Passion World Tour stop in Jakarta, Indonesia, later this year. Passion LA gave $42,707 towards the cost of the Jakarta event, helping to make an experience like Passion LA available to the 1.5 million university students there. All this from less than 4000 "poor" college students. Not bad! We are grateful for your support and humbled to be in the story of God. LG

  • Hi there Passion Team!

My name is Jenna and I am writing to you on behalf of the Kids With Destiny Team. There’s about eight of us, young women, all connected through Vanguard University. I was the only one out of the group that attended your conference in LA, and man, I was able to bring back some exciting news of what your movement is doing!

We have the same passion to unite youth in order to give God glory, and to honor Him, by serving others. Kids With Destiny came together to help serve the women and children of Calcutta, India. Our organization is fighting the injustice of sex trafficking. Like it was said at the conference, we too believe it is an IMMEDIATE issue that must be stopped.

That is why I have decided to email and message you repeatedly. I know God spoke in my own heart to do something and all I have on my heart right now is to email-email-email until something amazing happens.

Please know that we are willing to share knowledge about the world of sex trafficking. We believe that there is H.O.P.E. that can be done for the lives of the victims and we will strive to place the value of their hardships above our own.

    Peace,

    Jenna.Kristen

  • Thanks, Passion Team, for all your hard work for God. I am an old guy who snuck in (42). I brought my college group from our church in Phx.

I have four kids. Whenever I go on a trip I bring gifts home for them. They always know that Dad will return with treasure from where ever he has gone. This time, I gave the money budgeted for gifts to the Jakarta event and picked up prayer cards to give to my kids. When I returned they gathered around to see what I had gotten them. I told them the story of Passion and that you want to take it to Jarkarta. Then I told them that I gave their gift money for that purpose....they were very excited. My kids are now praying for that city and will continue to do so thru the conference dates.

So, in a small way, my kids are on your team!

I am so glad to be a pastor to college students. Without them I would not have gotten in. By the way, one of my guys is praying about coming to Jakarta as a volunteer.

  • Thank you for remembering the what it feels like 'forgotten' age group. We are the crazy wild and unattached group.. the 20 somethings, and myself having lots of involvement in the Church, it feel as if the 20' somethings have been forgotten, we are stereotyped that we should have it all together by now, and if your not a teen(you need attention) or a 30+ up (you should of got it together; therefore you need attention too) Which leaves the 20 somethings in the shadows. I am deeply grateful you have filled the forgotten gap.

  • Podcast-yes, I am downloading as I type. Just ordered God of This City and am so excited! It was funny too, because all I know is just a little of each of the songs, but today I was working at a horse farm and singing them at the top of my lungs and the horses really liked them- especially Hosanna and God of this City. So I can hardly wait to hear the finished product- I'll have to take it with me next time to the barn :). May God truly bless you guys!

  • Hi,
I'm Jon. I was in LA, and God put a calling on my heart, kind of scary for me. It involves me letting go of control and trusting God to take care of it. It has to do with building wells in Africa. I noticed that Blood Water Mission doesn't build Wells in Malawi and I am currently planning a benefit concert for Malawi, that will be on October 4th, but at Passion I got the calling that I need to go to Malawi and start building wells.

Louie if you could email me that would be great, I understand if you can't, but I need prayer and someone to talk to about this calling, and I have this feeling that I need to talk to you. My email: Seizingjon@yahoo.com

  • Side note on Passion LA podcast recap!
Holy Cow, that was an awesome debrief. I'm not a farmer but I dug it Crowder! Word to Chris Tomlin, I would have come up to bring you a drink, and you too MATT REDMAN! =) Thanks LG for bringing God's message of hope, and reminding us to fix our gaze on the cross when nothing else in this world makes sense, where we can find peace, and hope in Jesus. Thanks Francis for reminding me of the power of the Holy Spirit and Praise God for the realization that he is a great GOD and he is not a begger, he deeply wants to have a relationship with everyone but is not a begger. He knows whose hearts are fertile and will invest his time in them. Anyhow, This is Helen Shin representing the School of Nursing at San Jose State University. Thanks Passion, for allowing me to encouter God in a way that I have not met with him in a very long time. Everyone, let us keep pressin' in the power of the Holy Spirit, and I ask that the Lord would set this generation on fire, keeping us blameless, and set apart, for his renown.. Blessings ya'll!

He is so faithful, his Kingdom reigns and endures forever.
