28 Day Journey-Day One

Monday 12//05//05
1 For The Glory

The beginning and end of everything is the glory of God. So, naturally, it is fitting that we begin our journey of consecration, moving towards Passion06 and beyond, with His glory in view.

As we prepare our hearts for what lies ahead in Nashville, and as we begin to pray together all across the nation and world, we must do all we do to the end that God’s name will be great in our midst, receiving the honor and glory that He alone is due. If we have any other motive in our thoughts, actions or prayers, we will fail.

Passion exists for the glory of God. Our goal is not simply host successful events. We want more than songs. More than speakers. More than an experience. We want to start a movement for His renown! Thus, our desire is to center everything we do on God, do all we do for Him and leave Passion06 with renewed hearts to spread His story of mercy and grace to every person on planet earth.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17.

Today’s prayer:

Father, You alone are God. You are bigger than my ability to fully comprehend. You are “I AM.” I am “I am not.” You are great. I am small. Yet, You have made me in Your image and have redeemed me from the muck and shame of sinful ways. You have brought me to life through Jesus Christ and called me Yours. My very breath has come from You. All that I am and everything I will ever be is You.

On the very first step of this journey I humble my heart. There is nothing I want more than for my life to bring attention to Your greatness, for my life to reflect Your face to the whole world.

Lord, cause every part of my life and Passion06 to bring the most glory possible to Your name. Amen.

All through the day: More of You. Less of me.

  • "All that I am and everything I will ever be is You."- Not something to say lightly. Let that soak in. Do I mean it when I pray that? Lord, help me mean it, live it, obey it, experience it, know it. Lord, I believe, help my unbelief. more of you less of me

  • I pray that we all keep in mind that the goal is NOT passion ’06, the goal is to see Jesus. We need to be praying for the conference, but MUCH more than that we need to be seeking Christ and His face with all our hearts; so that when passion 06 rolls around it is just an overflow of the time we have already had with God up to that point. Passion wont change our lives, and I’m glad they make that very evident to us and they know that, ONLY emerging and saturating ourselves in Christ the living God and being ravished by Him will turn our hearts from looking at ourselves toward the world that so desperately needs a savior. My we die and empty ourselves of all of us so that we may be filled with Him alone!

  • AMEN to that last one! JESUS is our treasure! JESUS, the person, changes lives!! Father, my desire is for YOU alone - nothing else will do!

  • Praise God for the work He is doing! As a participant at Passion 05 I was encouraged, grateful, and humbled by my glimpse of a portion of God's plan. At my university, I felt I was under a barrage of Satan's attacks on my faith, with many of my Christian friends believing the lie that God does not want to lead our lives and entrust instruction to Him. Being in a "family" group of 7 who actively saught God for EVERY aspect of their lives and being among 18,000 other college students who wanted God's plan over their own was a blessing beyond what I can describe. I will not be able to be at Passion 06 due to financial reasons, but I know that Jesus has something awesome for me to do instead during that time, and that He has something awesome He will do in the hearts and lives of the students at Passion 06!

My prayer is that we become transparent, so that Jesus is all the world sees!

  • I praise God today that inspite of my tendency to try and make it about me He patiently prods me back on track through His grace and mercy. You are so good God!

  • Thank you God for preparing my heart for something big!! I thank you for giving me such a hunger and thirst for you!! Mold me and shape me into the vessel that you want me to be!!

  • just a story i thought i would share:

i asked my brother if he wanted to go to passion about two weeks ago and he said "that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard." - a week later, after some intense praying for him...he came to me and asked me to buy his ticket.

i suppose you could characterize him as the typical high school senior who just does the "God thing" on the side, but who truly isn't engaged... i have spent so many hours praying for a fire to ignite within him... a burning desire for God. i don't want him to waste his life looking for peace in fleshly pleasures.

i'm excited about passion...i'm excited about nashville...i'm excited about seeing what God is going to do.

  • Can't wait to hit Nashville. There are 5 of us coming all the way from Ireland from a ministry called "Worship Ireland". Were excited!! The last few years, my life has been inspired by all the Passion CD's, DVD, Teaching, Publications and I long for my life to be lived for the glory of God alone. Sometimes I can be so selfish but Dad, I pray that you would create in me a clean heart, one where selfishness and pride does not reign, but where you alone are King!!

    Blessings,
    Rick

  • Thank you God for the fellowship you offer even weeks before we gather together. I pray, Precious One, that you would pull our hearts toward your service in the kingdom work and away from our own selfish desires. You alone offer mercy when we do not deserve grace. We give you praise today. Cast you favor upon Passion06! For your name.....

  • God,
"Color me transparent, so that others see through me to You"

It's an easy prayer to pray, Lord, but it's hard to mean those words and be content knowing that if I never get credit for anything I do, it's okay, because You alone deserve the credit. You alone are worthy, God. Let them see through me to You.

    I love you.
