While You're Waiting

We're glad the Everything Glorious DVD is finally reaching anxious hands and finding its way into DVD players across the nation and around the globe. It's been a while since production wrapped up, so I haven't seen the footage in a few months. But looking back this week, these powerful images and the roar of so many voices has humbled me all over again. Passion 06 was for me a treasured time...the culmination of many dreams and much energy...all coming to life in a way that exceeded even my wildest hopes. It's pretty stunning looking back and remembering all God was and did in our midst.

Well, it sounds like the stores are bare, so sorry to all of you who have searched high and low for the DVD at your local retailer. All I can do is tell you what we've been told, which is that Everything Glorious should have been at Christian stores on the 15th and is scheduled to arrive at some mainstream stores on the 29th. But, then again, you can count on us at 268Store.com to get you one today. We have DVDs in stock and will zip one your way as fast as we can. We are doing our best to serve you.

One more clip from your friends at Passion and our dear friend Charlie while you wait.
Enjoy

  • Louie,
I appreciate your desire for Passion. I appreciate your desire to instill passion within others but do you not feel like you lead many down a completely unrealistic path? Is it not an exceptionally rare few who have the opportunity to follow their passions? To what degree does following one's passions forsake responsibility? I am married & hate my job. I have passions but none that would enable me to provide for my wife. I am not alone, there are many in my position whose circumstances are much more difficult ~ what opportunity do they have to follow their passions? With all due respect, hearing your message of hope in following one's passions simply breeds discontentment in many. Thoughts?

  • thanks Louie!!!! Christ is my passion and His passion is us and everything that goes on in our lives!! just ask and it will be given unto you.

  • Hey Anonymous...
Following Christ can sometimes lead to radical deicisions. Look at Matthew 4:18-22. Jesus calls Peter, Andrew, James and John to follow him. They "immediately" drop their nets, leaving everything behind, and follow Christ.

There are all kinds of examples of this throughout the Bible. The question is... are you dropping everything and following what YOU want, or what GOD wants for you. And if you are passionately following after God's will for your life, there's a CHANCE that the crazy passion burning inside you is a God-given desire.

If you feel like God might be calling you to leave your job, a great "checkpoint" for you might be to consult your wife. If she feels like stepping way out of your comfort zone into the unknown is what God is calling you to, that might be a great confirmation for you. If she doesn't, that might ALSO be a great confirmation.

Regardless, at the end of the day... and I think this was Louie's real message in his talk about "Passion, Purpose and Designer Jeans"... the real messages is THIS, straight from Colossians:

"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men" (Colossians 3:23)

If you stay at your current job, start doing that job as though it is for the Lord. If you're gonna step out into the unknown, do that as unto the Lord.

That's the best encouragement I can offer you. I would love to carry the conversation further with you... so feel free to contact me through my blogger page if you'd like!

  • Hi anonymous...I think we have to differentiate between our desires and the passions that God places in our hearts.

I have more than 10 years of higher education and a personal desire to put it to work. Yet God has called me to something more mundane, more humble, and infinitely more glorifying to Him.

So now that is my passion and I do it as if for the Lord.

Be encouraged, my brother. And pursue God's passion with all that you have.

  • Well I have had my DVD for two days now!!Planning on watching it again today!!Last night I watched it at least 3 or 4 times!!It's really hard to explain what I feel when I watch the DVD!!I guess a word could be (overwhelmed) with joy to see thousands coming together to praise Jesus. And thousands being restored in him.And my pray for Passion 07 is that when they all gather again!!That at the end of the conference!!They will come out just filled with a total burning for Jesus and overwhelming passion for Jesus and overflowing spirit to praise him.And that they will make a difference. That they tell everyone the meet about Jesus SON OF GOD!!!I also wanted to say (Mr.Giglio)Your talk about Satisfaction really taught me so much!!I mean that talk was really something I needed to hear!I was in tears! It was an awesome talk Mr.Giglio and I learned so much from it.It really woke me up.: )
God is my everything. So God take my hand I want to walk with you!
God Bless you Mr.Giglio and all who have been involved in Passion.I am always praying for you guys!!

  • Hey everyone... this is the first time I post on this blog... My name is Gaddiel and I live in Chile... I don´t know how many miles appart from all of you, but even though we live in totally different cultural realities and backgrounds, I feel there´s something that´s drawing our generation unto God. I´m 24 and study law in university, this is my last year, and I can remember the first time I heard about Passion... at first I though it was a band, and then through a DVD that found it´s way into my hands I met Louie, Beth, John, Chris, David, Charlie... But beyond all those names what caught my attention was the message that Passion is sending out to young believers around the globe... My heart starts pounding so fast everytime I hear the simple truth that our christianity has been based for so long on how much God loves us, and how much we deserved that love... I thought of God´s love for years that way, but through Passion, especially through John´s and Louie´s preachings I understood that the gospel is not centered on me but instead it is centered on God himself and how even today he´s still expecting all of us to give him all the glory he deserves, which he knows he deserves... what an awesome truth...
And just one more thing... I envy everyone who´s ever been to a Passion conference... you don´t know how much I want to go, but unfortunately my school year ends around the second week of January, so every year I miss the conference beacause I have to giuve y final exams... but I´m sure some day I´ll be with you guys...
Friends of Passion... Keep it up!!

  • Hey all,
I came across a sobering article this morning that is all the more reason to be praying for our college campuses... here's a quote from it:

“Depending on the type of college attended, as many as 51% of students who claimed to be ‘born-again Christians’ as freshmen said they were no longer born-again Christians four years later.”

That's a scary thought. Be praying... and as we're inviting people to Passion07 that are not believer, let's be looking for Christian brothers and sisters who are beginning to have doubts as well! What an encouragement it would be to spend a week with 20,000 other believers, soaking in the Light of the World!

Oh, here's the rest of the article, if anyone's interested: http://www.afajournal.org/2006/august/0806colleges.html
