See the Morning

24 Comments:

  • I'm loving every minute of the CD... just wish that Chris was doing a show here in Atlanta for all of us on the release tour...

  • WOOO! I preordered mine and I get to listen to it while I wait for it to arrive. I think this is my fourth round of listening to it haha. The lyrics are purely amazing and I'm glad God is using him so extravagantly. Everyone should go get it ASAP!

  • off subject (completely...): is there anything online that would equate to and online version of the "go center?" I'm looking for a door to somewhere and am having trouble finding an organization who "sends." I want to do more than give. I want to GO!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Downloaded my pre-order of the new Tomlin CD off iTunes last night... really enjoying it... the studio version of "Glorious" may be the best-sounding track Chris has ever done!

  • I just pulled up the iTunes music store and saw Tomlin's CD is #10 on the 'Top Album' list! Come on 268 generation, let's move it on up to #1!

  • Louie, I have been following the 268Blog since it came out, and I'll be a third year Passion conferencer in January!!! But I'm wondering why it seems most of the entries on the blog now just promote new cd's or passion registration? I'd love to hear more prayer requests for Passion or what God is showing you these days. Thanks for all you do!

  • I'm going to have to kind of agree with the above anonymous. I absolutely love what you have to say in your talks and love the movement of Passion, but I feel like it's becoming more and more about proclaiming the name of Passion & Sixsteps instead of Christ. I'm really not trying to come off as harsh, I am just way more interested in how God is working in yours and other people's lives rather than about knowing when the latest cd or DVD is coming out. To me a blog is more of a journal than about promotion. I'll go to the Passion website to get all the latest info on cds and price increases. Thanks for being an incredible leader for this generation!

  • I agree!

  • Anonymous, Anonymous, and Anonymous...

Just wanted to post a quick response.
Sorry you guys are feeling the Blog is all about promoting Passion and sixsteps...that's not our intention...yet it is, because our mission in lifting up the name of God comes through what He has called us to with Passion and sixsteps. For us/me there is an unbroken bond between Passion and Passion and Passion and sixsteps. These records are not products we are trying to sell, rather projects we have devoted months, if not years, of our lives to.

While I know you can receive the latest info on other sites, this Blog is designed to BOTH let people know what's going on with Passion and how they can connect to the journey. For us to NOT celebrate a CD release we have literally poured our lives into feels crazy from our side. Sorry if it lands as marketing to yours.

Why are we highlighting registration and Chris' CD or the DVD in the last few months? One, registration is in full swing and we just assumed people wanted to know what's going on. Maybe we missed that one. And the projects are just now being born. Some people love the little clips and video previews...I guess others do not.

In other seasons the Blog will reflect different things, but for these days we celebrate what God is doing in our midst.

    Thanks for the feedback.
    Louie

  • I understand others comments in what a 'blog' is normally used for; however, I normally come to the blog website to find out all the new info. and what's going on at Passion. When I see something on the blog that I need more info. then I go to the 268 website. I know we've all learned through various experiences that you can never make everyone happy but just keep doing what your doing because no matter what your promoting I always know Jesus is the focus of it!

  • Louie...
Great response to the concerns listed in the blog. There's a tough balance to find in all of this, and y'all do a terrific job of finding that balance... not just in the blog, but in everything Passion is doing.

Thanks for your heart and leadership!

  • Louie, Thanks for what you do. I come to this blog to get updates on what is going on at Passion and I can't get that anywhere else. I am praying for this January.

Promoting Chris's CD and proclaiming the Name of Christ are one and the same thing. It is a fallacy to assume that one has to be speaking directly of Christ or of Spiritual things for ones actions to be promoting Christ. By pushing Chris's CD we are proclaiming the Name of Christ because his CD is focused on bringing praise and glory to God. People are going to worship God through these songs all over the world, whether it is in the car or in a church service on Sunday.

  • Hey Louie!
Thank you so much for your response above. I totally agree with you about celebrating what God has been doing in bringing works of your sixsteps family to completion. It is only right to celebrate them! :)

These are works that are made to glorify God. If you were silent about them, wouldn't that be like hiding your light under a bushel? We don't want that...no way!

Many of us appreciate so much how well you all strive to keep us up to date on what's happening with Passion & the Sixsteps team, and I love your video clips, pictures, and blogs that you share with us. How would anyone know what was going on or what was needed if you didn't share it? Please don't let a occasional stray voice have an effect what you are doing. I agree with RG above that you guys seem to find the balance quite well. I appreciate how you and Shelly seem to join with the Sixsteps team as a family with which to be accountable during this journey. I hope that you continue as you have, there are many of us who feel God has laid your ministry on our hearts and we like to know what's up so we know how to best pray for you guys. To pray with you during hard times and to celebrate God's blessings with you :)
(You know what, something just occured to me - maybe some people are thinking of the 40 day prayer journey that led up to Passion last year, and don't understand that was a season with a call to prayer with a specific purpose for those coming to passion and those who wished to pray for them. Maybe that is when some people started looking at the 268 blog and they thought that's what it would be like every post or something. Maybe that is where some confusion is coming from?.... I don't know....)

Anyway... please keep on doing what you're doing &

    celebrate what God is doing!
    blessings 268team :)

  • Sorry if I offended you, Louie. I definitely did not mean to criticize what God has called you and the sixsteps/passion crew to do. I do celebrate with you guys on the release of new cd's and videos and own all of them on itunes or otherwise. I also enjoy the updates about Passion registration and the video clips. You're response said exactly what I was wanting to see on the blog, that you're pouring into this stuff what God is pouring into you. It's sometimes hard to realize that these things are a product of God's grace poured out on you or Chris or whoever when that is just expressed with a cd release logo. Please continue to pour out your heart to us here, I and I know many others would love to know what we can be praying for you and the Passion movement about as your seek God's face on what to pour into other projects. Once again, I'm sorry my remark came across as sheer criticism or merely an expression displeasure. Much love in Christ,
    JB

  • See the Morning.....

I was fortunate enough to get to see the Tulsa show and.... it was fantastic! I so appreciated CTB's joy, kindness, and humble hearts. I'm still soaking in listening to See the Morning and am loving the new songs to worship with. I only have one problem .......I can't get some of them out of my head! Let God Arise, How Can I Keep from Singing, and Rejoice to name a few. Not that I really mind. You are just going to have to quit singing such catchy songs.... heehee Love the songs

Truly, I love the theme of hope, encouragement and God's faithfulness in this cd.

Thank you so much for reminding us that our God is faithful as the rising sun ~
    Blessings CTB :)

  • Hi Anonymous @ 8:33....I hope you don't mind me jumping in to answer your question about Matt's new CD. From what I've been able to tell, it will be released 12/26 and is called "Beautiful News".

Here is a link that lists some of the songs, the release date, etc:

    Beautiful News

Like you, I'm excited to hear what God's been revealing to Matt!

  • WOW, This cd is AMAZING! I just love it and I can't stop listening to it! I have been looking forward to this cd. I'm blessed that I got to see Chris lead worship this summer in NH.

To Louie: thanks for reading our comments. I totally agree with you! One thing about Passion is that you guys have a mission! You are one big family! And that's GREAT! Last week I had a meeting with a few christian Dutch mediapeople. There were like 10 people, all very different in personalities and backgrounds, graphic designers & pr people to tv editors like me, and there was even a pastor from Seatle, who was in Holland that day! We all have one thing in common: we want to tell the world about God's kingdom, through media. It was our first meeting, but definitely not our last. If you are even in Holland, you are invited to join our meeting, we all want to hear yourpoint of view. Like the pastor from Seatle, he was in Holland for a meeting with a christian tv channel and he heard about our meeting and wanted to come. Which was awesome, God ways are emendous!! I tried to make a video for the project, but unfortunately i just don't have the equipment, I couldn't get my videomaterial on the computer, and it really made me mad, because I had thought about the whole promotion video, and I exactly knew what I wanted to do....
Much love and good luck with everything. Take care, Jacoline
