28 Day Prayer Journey To Passion 07 - Day 2

Day 2. Today.

Though we are on the road to Passion 07 in 27 days, the challenge for us all is today. Especially those of you who are feeling the heat of finals and end-of-term projects that are looming in the days ahead. So while we want to think and pray about our time here in Atlanta, what's most important in this moment is finishing well. And to finish well we have to know that God is with us today...right where we are.

Your classes, projects, exams and deadlines matter to God. Why? Because they are part of your life, and everything about you matters to Him. God's not isolated to church, ministry or worship. He is present in the smallest details of our days and ready to bring His divine energy to bear on whatever the task at hand. Think about it... He made the universe by the power of His command, so He probably knows a little something about whatever it is you're studying right now!

So, here's the deal...Passion is going to be incredible. But God is just as interested in doing something supernatural in us where we're sitting right now as He is during the days we are together in January. Invite Him into the fray--and ask Him to empower you to focus, understand, prioritize, trust and work like never before. I think you'll find Him more than willing to meet you where you are and carry the weight of your academic load with you. And, hopefully, you'll find joy in doing your very best so that He is seen and known in your studies, which, in the end, magnifies Him.

Praying for you: Father, we bring all the students reading this today to You...asking You to allow their minds to focus, increase their understanding and help them to make the connection between doing their best and pleasing You. Cover them with a sense of Your presence in the midst of long days and sleepless nights, and bring them through with a smile and the reward of knowing they excelled to the greatest degree possible. For Jesus in their school work, Amen.

Your prayer: Father, I can't make it through these days alone. Live through me to make me the best student I can possibly be. I'm working hard, yet trusting You every breath of the way. For Jesus in my school work, Amen.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men..." Colossians 3:23

  • Wow, I needed that today. Thanks!

  • I am at work in my first job in the Corporate World out of college and was feeling pretty beat down this morning. This message spoke truth into my life and reminded me that Jesus is right here with me in this very moment. Thank you so much for the encouragement ~ pressing on for His Glory today and looking forward to my time off in ATL!

  • WOW thanks so much Mr.Giglio I really needed that! And thank you for that great scripture verse today it was very uplifting!!

    : )

  • Thank you for that. I've been guilty of being kinda lazy in the final stretch, but you've reminded me why I should be willing to do my best.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12/05/2006 11:53 AM

  • Yes, thank you Mr. Giglio. What an encouragement. He is so worthy of our best! And what grace amazing that He has promised us His wonderful presence! Indeed, we are blessed above measure!

I went to Colossians after reading the post. I love the verse right after 3:23: Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Paul understood what it meant to finsh well--2 Timothy 4:6-8. And our Lord Jesus certainly did--John 17. He is a faithful High Priest and perfect example...and source of our strength! And He certainly knows the reward!

    Thanks again

PS--Rodrigo, you out there? What's the latest? Was prayin' for you Monday.

  • This just what I needed this morning as I start the day of studying. It's a good reminder that God is in every part of our life. I now that giving Him my time & energy apart from all the studying is what gets me through.

  • WOW major conviction...I was thinking about how much I don't want to do work less than five minutes before reading this...thank you for today's prayer devotion!

  • It's amazing to see God already using this event to speak to so many of us in so many different locations and places in life! I am a leader of a small group of students in OKC and work in the corporate world as well. I have also experienced the 'beaten down' feeling already mentioned today. Colossians spoke to me as well in 1:1-2 and reminded me that I've been given a command to set my mind on the things of heaven! I'm in awe by my God who does care about seemingly insignificant people and things...

By Anonymous Matt, at 12/05/2006 5:29 PM

  • Yes, Lord, I pray in agreement with this for all the students...how much you love each of them. May they be still and know you are God...give them supernatural rest and excellent learning abilities for Your glory!

  • I will always remember something I read about 5 years ago.

"Take heart...the God who created the universe knows that you have a test tomorrow."

He makes time to help you study, friends!

  • Hi everyone! Hi Kayleen! I have some news about my visa. They didn't grant me it, but we are trying to make them change the decision. Indeed I got sad with this stuff, but God granted me peace! I am waiting on HIM completely. I know that if He wants I'll go to Passion 07! No man can do anything against what God decides.

Keep on praying for me. Thank you very much for your prayers...hope to see you soon.

This week will be decisive. I'll keep you updated!

For all you which had your visas denied, WAIT ON GOD! All the things work together for the good of those who love HIM!

    God bless you all!
    see ya'll!

Wait on God and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Father decrease us so You may increase. I pray for walls to come down and the path made clear as Your children prepare them self to meet face to face with You. Take any thing that is blocking uor way towards your Holyness. Open wide your arms and grab us in to the safe place of your love and embrace.

I thank and trust in what You will do in advace, Lord for your name and Glory.

In Your splendid Son, Jesus Amen.

  • Hey there to all who prayed on page 1 before me! It worked (well, it has worked, works, and it will continue to work, really). For the first time I was in class today and really enjoyed learning what was being taught. But why it was different is now clear!

Thanks, y'all, and more thanks to GOD, who gives! Off to more "homework:)"...

  • Fighting the attitude of apathy for my school work. I'm loving the prayer journey. The thought of so many people crying out to God in unity is spine tingling.

P.S. Will you let us know how the folks with the pending visas faired and the if South Dakota situation changes?

Thanks for all that you do.

By Blogger Lwise, at 12/05/2006 11:12 PM

  • Hi Rodrigo. I was so sorry to hear that your visa had been denied. However praise God for His peace that you have about the situation.
We'll keep praying His peace for you as you wait and we will be praying to our Heavenly Father "who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine " that the decision will be changed this week.

It would be great to see you at Passion.
