28 Day Journey-Day Ten

Wednesday 12//14//05
10 Breathing Prayer

We cannot allow prayer to become a segment of our lives alone, something we do at certain times throughout our day or week. For, prayer is the seamless connection we have with our Father, an unbroken conversation that fills our days and nights. Both alone in the closet and always on the way, we stay “in touch” with the God who is constantly present everywhere we are.

There is no reason why we cannot talk to God about everything that is happening in our lives. He’s always there. Why wouldn’t we acknowledge Him? Why wouldn’t we talk with Him? Is it because we lose sight of His presence, forgetting that he is near?

There will never be a moment in this day that Jesus Christ is not right where you are. Keep the conversation alive, praying about everything, listening in every situation.

Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-28.

Father, heighten my senses. Tune my heart to You. Open my eyes to see You in all places, to recognize You at all times. Then, and only then, my prayers will never cease. Amen.

Through the day: Jesus, You are here now.

P.S.-Thank you so much for your comments and prayers. You cannot fathom how much they mean to us and those on our team who are facing difficult days. The God of our fathers is with us now.

  • Louie,

I am a student minister and have been impacted greatly by your teaching, preaching, writing, etc... I just finished "i am not but i know I AM" tonight, and tomorrow will get back to "The Air I Breathe" because I stopped for one reason or another.

Last Sunday, I postponed our regular Sunday School lessons for the youth department and showed part one of Indescribable and will show part two this coming Sunday.

In my blog, I hope you don't mind, but I have been writing about things you talked about in your book and have pleaded with whomever, if anyone, reads my blog, to buy your book. Some of my students have and I am sure that others will soon. I have photos of your book and you on there as well so they will hopefully recognize your books in the stores.

I am trying to expose my students to your material as best I can. Thank you for being faithful.

I enjoy your communication style tremendously. It is extremely effective.

My first and only time to hear you preach in person was at a Student Life camp in LA when you preached using fishing lures as props, pointing out that satan knows which lure to use on us, etc...

    Thanks again!

    John

  • John,

just a neat coincidence that I did the exact same to my Sunday School class last Sunday. We finished our curriculum early; and so we all watched "significant insignificance." Even the middle school kids saw just how big God was compared to them. They are such a blessing!

    Louie,

cancer is a terrible disease; I can think of no other that makes people question what life is about more. I am sure God will use that for His glory; as I am sure your friends will preach His name all over the hospital. And, let me tell you, most hospitals need a lot more of Jesus in them! However, I will also pray that God the Great Physician would once again work wonders in His children. Thank you for being faithful to us in keeping up this blog.

    In Christ,

    Silke

  • and how amazing it is that in those "conversations"... when we don't have the words to say... HE says them on our behalf! I'm just blown away... Our GOD truly is an Awesome GOD!!

  • It is so awesome the way that the God of this universe desires to have a relationship with us and allows us to come to Him with every ooncern and thought we have. I wanna thank Passion for reminding me of that.

  • Louie & Passion Team:

“So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, & his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). Like an eagle caring for its young, so shall He protect you; as an eagle stirs up her nest, flutters over her young, spreads abroad her wings, takes them, bears them on her wings; so the LORD alone will lead you, because there was no strange god with you. He will make you ride on the high places of the earth, that you might eat the increase of the fields; & to suck honey out of the rock, & oil out of the flinty rock; butter of kine, & milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, & rams of the breed of Bashan, & goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; & will drink the pure blood of the grape (Deut. 32:11-14). Therefore be strong & of good courage, fear not, nor be affrighted at them: for Jehovah your God, He will go with you; He will not fail you, nor forsake you (Deut. 31:6). I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you & have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you & help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. All who rage (the enemy and his cohorts) against you will surely be ashamed & disgraced; they (the adversary and minions) who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. I will send confusion into their camp & you all shall emerge victorious. For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand & says to you, Do not fear; I will help you (Isaiah 41: 9-13). Abide therefore in the shadow of My wings, in the shelter of the Almighty- for I AM your Rock, your Fortress, your God in whom you can trust (Ps. 91:1-3). Know this, the deeper the valley, the higher the mountain – for the valley is a place where things grow because when it rains all the minerals, salts, nutrients in the soil of the mountain flows into & nourishes the valley. The Lord is near the broken hearted (Ps. 34:18) & a broken & contrite heart He will not despise (Isaiah 51:17). Be strengthened this day; arise & shine for your Light has come and the Glory of God is upon you (Isaiah 61:1).”

  • I want to say thank you. Thank you for thanking us for our comments. Thank you for recognizing God through them. Your words are a great challenge and encouragement to folling Him.

I am sitting at a coffee shop right now meeting with a student and we were talking about the complexities about God. I was telling her to be thankful in all circumstances and we came to your blog and the verse was right there. Amazing. God rocks my face off!

God is using you and the passion team way more than you or I probably know. I do know that He is reshaping the way I follow Him and lead others to Him.

I cannot wait for Passion. Not for the sake of another conference, but to be before Him, with people who want to give up their lives to follow hard after Him. I am looking forward to being at Passion because I know I will be consumed by God. I don't like being places where it feels like everyone is consuming. But I know I am probably do it myself.

Anyway...all that to say I am continually amazed by this Grace that I do not deserve in my life. Keep speaking, keep teaching us about Him and Him alone.

Thank you for the "throughout the day prayers". Mine I leave for you guys is: Jesus.

  • I just wanted to thank you for today's encouragement. Actually I've been having a really hard time lately, finals have been a little stressful, and actually today I had been praying and thinking about this. That God would draw me near and that I would truly know and believe that He is near. And after reading this it was really refreshing to be reminded of this truth and of this promise we have in Christ.

    In Him,

    Nadia
