28 Day Journey-Day Twenty Seven
Saturday 12//31//05
27 Come
Passion is not for perfect people. While we boast in the fame of Jesus Christ, and want to live our lives for Him, it’s not always as easy as to pull off as the words are to say.
In a setting like Passion it’s easy to get swept into the current of emotion, feeling invincible in our pursuit of Jesus and His ways. But it’s not the swell of thousands that wins the day, rather one of us yearning for God with a broken heart. That’s where change is. That’s where life is. It’s where Jesus is always found.
So don’t worry about trying to impress. Come as you are. From wherever you find yourself, come to Jesus. He loves the least, the sinner, the broken, the needy. He will meet you here.
If you’ve stumbled in recent days…
If you’re thirsty…
If you’re lonely…
If you think you might give up on God…
If your needs are larger than words…
If you’re slipping…
If you’re questioning…
Come.
Father, I cannot hide from You. You know me inside and out, so I come to you as I am. I have such a long way to go…there’s so much to be done in my life. Thank you for mercy, and Your amazing patience which seems endless. I am not happy where I am. Heal me. Touch me. Restore me to You. I’m reaching for You, Jesus. Amen.
Through the day: You restore.
[Nashville is buzzing. Music City Bowl today...congrats Cavs. Brooks and Dunn, Big and Rich in the Gaylord for New Year's, NHL Hockey in the Arena on Sunday... then the Passion invasion.]

Today's prayer, to come...are my sentiments exactly.
I don't know if I should leave all my burdens & worries behind here in Toronto, OR bring them to Nashville to be burnt up in sacrifice to God..I just know I really need to come.
As of this moment, I don't feel "ready" to go to Passion06..and don't know if I'll ever be. I just know I hear God's call to "come & die" loud & clear, day in & day out.. to die to self trying & self power.
I'm coming, Lord.

"Oh the wonderful Cross, oh the wonderful Cross!
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live!"
-- The Wonderful Cross
Recall from Louie's talk at Passion05:
"23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." -- Romans 3:23-24 (NIV)
The Christian life is impossible! But remember you're not JUST a sinner saved by grace. No, you're justified FREELY by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus!!! (KJV) So COME! Come and die, and find that you might TRULY live!
I can't wait for this "Reverant Party" to get started! I can't wait to see a generation united for His renown.
Godspeed everyone, remember to pray unceasingly and constantly be in communication with Him!

"When I open wide the doors of my heart to Jesus as a confronter it breaks me, it frees me, it humbles me, it gentles me, enlarges me to value Calvary"

Thank you for today's prayer. I am coming to Passion as a volunteer. My 18 year old son is facing possible jail time when he goes to court on the 12th of January. He does NOT have Jesus in his heart. I have printed this prayer out for him. I am praying daily for him to be restored to the love of our saviour.

'thank you for the cross, thank you for the cross, thank you for the cross my friend."
may it be bigger in our hearts than ever before as we come to worship you Jesus.

the cool thing about this post is that i've been helping several friends out with that very thing this week.
it was exciting to see the power of God work in these people and watch as He pulls them back to Himself.
i am on cloud 9 today... i finished reading through the entire New Testament today, straight through. Old Testament starts tomorrow... and i'm so excited about it.

Amen. Louie you definitely know how to write! Thank you. Words that I needed to hear.
We cannot hide from God, though we may try we can't. Sometimes I wish I could hide, but I know I can't.
Thank you Lord, for letting me not be able to hide from you. You see everything about me, you know every hair on my head, where I sit and where I fall, you know everything about everyone. Even though we may not come to you, we need to. You already know what we've done wrong and right, but we still need to tell you, so that we can be forgiven and so that we can praise you even more. How good it is to sing praise to our God!
Happy New Years Eve you all!

What a beautiful prayer-- to just come to Jesus. What more can we do to find life and restoration. We as a family in Australia have gone on the 28 day journey with you and have been inspired ourselves as well as praying for everyone going to Nashville.Thank you to all the Passion staff and to you Louie for your faithfulness in leading God's ministry that He has entrusted to you. We will be interceding for all that going on in Nashville and praying that God does something new in every heart that has just simply come to meet with Him.

Please know that you 'youngsters' are being lifted in prayer by an older sister in Christ. I am in awe of our Lord for lighting such a fire under this generation. PRAISE HIM!!!

"Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Matthew 9:12-13
Lord, we come because there is nowhere else we can go. Nobody extends mercy and grace that we so desperately need. Father, accept us as we come to You, our Source, our Refuge, our Creator.
