Everything Glorious Has A Face

More than a cool title, everything glorious is what God makes.

So, I mentioned that the communion/worship reflection was pretty potent at Thirsty Thursday night, right? Well, I was meeting and saying goodbye to our new Japanese friends Friday (10 of them came with a group from Tokyo Baptist Church--five leaders and five students) and the leader of the group introduced me to Natsuki. She'e the one on my left in the pic/on my right as you are looking at it. Turns out she put her trust in Christ and became a Christian right in the middle of the communion service Thursday night! The beaming brightness on her face said it all.

I'm not thinking a huge wave of college students in Tokyo are comming into the Kingdom every day, so that one did all the way over here at Thirsty is so exciting.

We love you Natsuki! And pray for all of you as you spread His fame in Japan.

God, it's true. You make everything glorious!

Louie

PS- we have arrived in N'ville. Such a special place for so many of us now. We kick off by leading the GMA Sunday night worship service tonight in the Ryman. Pray for us... all we want is to make it all about Jesus.

  • Praise the LORD!! I can't tell you how much this blog means to me. Let me explain...this summer I am going to Tokyo to be an intern for IWitness Ministries for about 10 weeks. This weekend we had our leadership retreat, and to be honest I was and am still freaking out about the task God has before me this summer. I have had a lot of uncertainty and worry about the task ahead of me, especially feelings of inadequacy. I just got back 2 hours ago, with my thoughts dwelling on what in the world is going on this summer. But the Lord in His wonderful goodness has comforted me by hearing about Natsuki and her decision, and even the 10 or so students that got the change to go to Thirsty!! The Lord has been working in the dark country of Japan for..well, forever, and He is not stopping now. God truly, truly makes everything glorious, and now I am thrilled of the thought of seeing even more of his glorious nature in Tokyo this summer!!

  • I will definitely be lifting you all up in prayer as you're in Nashville this week. Thanks for all you do.

And thanks for sharing the news about Natsuki! We serve a glorious and good God, and I'm sure there was a huge party up in heaven that Thursday night. I can't wait to be there forever, and now Natsuki will be joining us!!!

  • That's amazing to hear about the group from Tokyo... I was lucky to meet a few of them while I was selling resources in the store and they were great! I'm praying for them as they travel back and bring the good news of Jesus Christ to Japan!
I'm praying for tonight at the Ryman as it is beginning and can't wait to hear about all you guys are doing up there in Nashville this week. Just think... this time three months ago, we were sitting in the GEC getting ready for an amazing few days of praising God with all our might. I pray that this week would be more of the same for all of you sixsteps folks!

  • Louie, we prayed for all you guys last night, from down here in Melbourne, as we knew that you were appearing at the Ryman tonight your time.

May the name of Jesus be lifted up all during this week in Nashville and may all that is said and sung bring honour to His glorious Name.

Jesus may the love that all the folk at Passion have for you just beam from them all week and may they radiate Your praise and live for Your name and renown.

  • Hello Louie,

Thanks for all you do. Thirsty was such a blessing for me to be a part of. Friday afternoon I went back to my hotel and prayed for a compelling vision. He has heard the prayer and excited my heart with a call higher than I could have imagined! Praise God.

On another note, I was hoping you might be able to send me the file of the pic of laminin that you used. I would like to use it for church this Sunday if possible.

    Thanks again and God bless.

  • Louie, you were such a blessing tonight at the Ryman (and at the songwriters' showcase). Your unique mixture of humor, profundity and reverence are encouraging and uplifting.

Chris, Charlie, David: thanks -- it was truly a blessing.

  • Louie,
I must say that is good to hear. Thirsty was great, you and the Passion team did a great job. I particularly appreciate the way the conference was Christ focused. Plans and strategies are great, but every body has one and there is always a new one. Seems that focusing on Christ makes better sense. Plus, I can't say that I have been to a conference where we took communion, it was great.
Also, I really appreciate you sharing your heart Friday. I have known Passion since 1998 as a student. To me it has always been a somewhat large and impersonal conference. Don't get me wrong, it is has always been good stuff, just mysterious. Made me ask, "Who are these strange and mysterious Passion folks, and where did they come from?" Hearing your, and Passion's, story was great. I love to see and hear how God shows His God stuff in people’s lives. I saw that in the Passion story. I see people who love God and do all they can to bring glory to Him with their lives. I can see that you are not in it for yourselves but that God's glory is what you seek. I greatly appreciate that. So, if you have not noticed by now, I am throwing you, Shelly, and the 12 or so Passion/SixStep folks some love. You folks are a great encouragement. Your hard work and heart are evident in many lives, like Natsuki, that have been changed, by God, as a result of a worship event you folks organized. Bravo to the hard working, Christ focused, team of 12, 13, or 14, what ever the total count ends up being.
    Kevin

P.S.- To the old man (ha ha, I was in the marks of worship breakout, know how old you are now). Some times I have wondered how long I could work with students and do well. You give me hope; I never really figured I was standing on a stepping stoned anyway.

  • Yeah, finally spring... leaving work in daylight, finally sunshine and blue skies, warm 40 degrees:) and then some good new music... it called for a long walk despite much homework waiting to be done! I'm sure it'll just flow as I type it to the tunes of P'06!

    Silke

P.S. Sounds like Thirsty was filled with the Spirit; I'm sorry I had to miss it.

  • How am I supposed to function in conditions like this? I have been checking my mail every day for the past week in hopes of finding my pre-ordered copy of "Everything Glorious"! My co-worker received HIS last week... while I suffer. Has anyone else resorted to opening up the Passion '07 page just to hear the 30-second clip?

Does the mailman ever come twice on the same day?

By Blogger Ryan Guard, at 4/03/2006 8:20 PM

  • Sad...I didn't pre-order my Passion Cd because I thought they would mail them on the 4th and I would have to wait until a few days later to get it. I decided going to a store on the 4th and buying it was better than having to wait for it to come in the mail. Had I known they would be mailed out early, I definitely would have ordered it from 268! Alas, I will be going to Wal-Mart in hopes of finding it tomorrow.... :0
