Amazing Start

Following in the spirit of my comments in the last Blog remarks, we are celebrating the release of See The Morning one week after it's debut last Tuesday. It was pretty amazing today as the charts from week one were released. STM landed at the top of the Christian charts AND at #15 on the Billboard Top 200. That's #15 out of every CD out there last week, a bold statement and a lot of songs of hope and light floating around the nation. We're humbled and excited... and we know this is only the beginning.

Thanks for your prayers and support!

  • That's so exciting how The LORD is using See The Morning! Keep up the great work as we're praying for you all! Can hardly wait to to see you in Atlanta, Louie. I'm gonna miss you not being with The Travellers next week (what happened? Did the guys just decide they wanted the tour buses all to themselves this year or what? lol ;), but I know Passion '07 is going to be truly awesome! Love you guys (and gals) and your hearts so much!

  • Fantastic news!!! I'm constantly amazed by God's continued favor upon Passion and the Passion family. Who would have ever thought a CD full of Christian music would be #15 on Billboard?!?

So happy for you guys... God is good!

  • STM is an awesome album. It's wonderful that it's getting into the hands of so many people. I can't wait until we start doing more of these songs at church. I think we've hit most of the songs on EG! :)

  • I work at the Lifeway Christian Bookstore in Denver, CO and I was so excited to put STM out on the shelves. I made sure to place it in the most accessible spots possible. No sooner had I put it out then it started flying off the shelves! Thanks guys for putting such great music out there. And it is not just great music it is great music for the Glory and renown of Christ! Thanks!

  • Hey Louie, (SixSteps?), can we talk?

So, here's the deal. I live in Indonesia, and because of exchange rates, what to us is 1 dollar is 10 dollars to the average person. I'm not an expert on how music licensing works, but I do know that it is impossible for my college student friends to spend $15 on a new cd. They spend $15 to rent their dorm room for the month.

Their other option is to find bootlegged copies of stuff floating around the country for a dollar or two. (incidentally, 2 dollars to them spends like 20 dollars to us.)

Is there any way to create some kind of middle ground on this? I know my friends would all spend a reasonable amount on a legitimate original. I want them to be released into Passion worship, but struggle with encouraging them to buy bootlegged copies, which feels to me like they're stealing from you.

Hmmm. How to best glorify God in this situation. thoughts?
