28 Day Prayer Journey To Passion 07 - Day 3

Day 3. Everybody.

Christianity is not an American phenomenon, nor an exclusive club for those of us in the western world. The family Christ is building on earth and in heaven is filled with every nation, tribe, tongue and race. We are part of a global movement which in many ways is expanding faster outside the States than within.

That's why we're thrilled to have people from 31 nations at Passion 07...and those are just the ones we know of. For many of them the journey is next to impossible, filled with complexities and costs most take for granted. Just yesterday, students in Brazil and Romania had their visa applications denied...again. For Rodrigo, it was his second attempt this year. And for the Romanians it was the second year in a row they have been denied permission to attend Passion. Rodrigo is appealing his decision and more Romanians go for their hearings this week.

Many factors go into these decisions, and the denials don't necessarily reflect a bent against Passion or Christianity. But they do highlight three things: The incredible opportunity we have to gather in Atlanta. The cost many are willing to endure to taste Passion for the first time. The need for us to go and meet them where they are.

Check out Rodrigo's beautiful comment in the previous Blog post. And pray for students and leaders coming from the following countries. Pick one, write it where you'll be reminded to pray for them all the way to Atlanta.

Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Botswana, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, China, Estonia, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Kazakstan, Kenya, South Korea, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Northern Mariana Islands, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania, Slovakia, South Africa, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States.

Father, please open wide the gates and make a way in the wilderness for all who long to be a part of Passion 07. In Jesus name throughout the world, Amen.

"All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord, and they will bring glory to your name." Psalm 86:9

  • God,
We ask for you to remove the obstacles in Rodrigo's path and anyone else who specifically is having a problem with a visa. Make their path to Passion '07 clear. In the name of Jesus we humbly ask this. Do it Lord! Do it today! We know you are the only who can work miracles. Get all the glory! We love you Jesus. Amen

  • For those who are wanting and waiting to come, Lord, may we please have them with us in January? You are the giver of all good gifts, and we rejoice to approach your throne with this request. Our appeal is on the basis of your character, your heart that continues to beat for all nations. May our hearts be stirred to encourage and support those who are hungry, to have compassion like Christ that did not refuse them His love.

  • "All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord, and they will bring glory to your name." Psalm 86:9

I just can say one word: Amen!

I pray for the people that are attending the Passion conference in 2007! May their hearts be filled with His glory. I hope that they realise how privileged they are to be able to go to Passion and to meet with God and to enjoy meeting with other christians. And may they learn more about Him.

I wish I could be there, while I now know that there won't be a conference in 2008. I just don't have the money.....

I'm privileged to not have to apply for a visa to go to the US because I have an European passport. I pray that God will help this people with denied visa applications. They might not be able to go to Passion, but it's a comfort to know that God is with them!

Rodrigo: I really hope you can go to Passion, I pray that there will be doors opened for you!

  • Wow!!! I am so amazed by this post today. It has challenged me to challenge my group that is coming. We have just recently started a college age ministry at our church and this will be out first big event we do and I am having a hard time to get 10 people to commit. Our church had already gone and taken a step of faith to pay for 10 spots and I can not get them all filled. My pray is that this blog (which I am going to share in small group tonight)will encourage people to commit to going once they see how we have this opportunity in our back door (we live 1 1/2 hours away from Atlanta) and there are people all over the world who want to come and may not be able to. I will commit to praying for all these nations and people still trying to complete the process to come.

  • This message today truly made me feel so incredibly lucky that I have the opportunity to attend Passion once again this year. Last year was my first experience with it, and I was one of those people standing the last night, accepting God fully into my heart. I felt so touched that night, not only by God, but by the individuals that surrounded me. I am also joyed because my brother will be attending Passion with me this year; his first time. I'm so excited to share this experience with him, and show him just how amazing God is!

I pray that individuals who are having difficulties right now in making it to Passion are able to come and praise God with all who are attending.

  • What an amazing and beautiful movement. I will be honest, I had blinders on for the last many years and in recent months have heard about passion. Please know that passion ministers to more than just the college age. It reached me when I needed God the most…and I am not of college age. Infact I felt like I needed to experience this in person and will be attending as a volunteer.

  • Anonymous @7:48pm,

Go ahead and start praying; it's intense even as a volunteer. It's my second year going (as a volunteer), and I wouldn't want to miss it! (Most of "it" would be the Holy Spirit moving.)

    Ashley,

God IS moving all over the world. I'm curious to see what He's got in store for this weekend...

    Gail, Kimmer, Eliz, and others,

it's so good to know that the whole family is praying for this "thing" together, regardless of our backgrounds or current places of residence.

    Louie,

I'll add South (and North) Korea to my prayer list of England, Spain, France, and Germany. I'm almost half South-Korean anyway... by association. Thanks for the encouragement to keep chasing after HIM, and only HIM.

  • I agree Silke,

I am so thankful for this family of believers. It moves my heart to know that all around this world there are so many of His children intuned to His heart!!

  • As the rain and snow don't return to heaven with out doing exactly what God intends (Is 55)

As He created the whole universe

As He told the ocean waves where they had to stop (Job 38)

As He commands the lightning (")

So these student will be at passion if it is His will...

We pray they can dance with us in January in His holy name... hold nothing back Father

    Hope to dance with you...
