28 Day Prayer Journey To Passion 07 - Day 16
Day 16. Friends.
Passion is not the only collegiate conference happening as 2006 comes to a close. Along with Campus Crusade and others who will be holding gatherings across the nation, Intervarsity will be hosting Urbana 2006, its 21st Student Missions Conference, in St. Louis, MO. While we are making final preparations for Passion 07, the Urbana team is getting ready for 25,000 in St. Louis. Amazing! The dates of Urbana are December 27-31 and I'd really love it if our Passion family prayed not for Passion today, but for those that are leading and attending this event. They have a massive task and a thundering legacy, hosting their first Urbana in 1946! Shelley and I have been before and count the leaders as friends. In fact, we have been in close contact with the Urbana folks for years, and especially in recent months as we have had the chance to pray for and encourage each other face to face. Urbana.org.
Father, we bring the whole Urbana team to You today, asking You to fill their hearts with confidence in what You are doing in their midst. We ask that the three years of effort invested in Urbana 2006 will bear staggering fruit for the cause of Your mission to bring hope and life to every person on this planet. We ask for Your protection and mercy on the Director, Jim T, and every staff person involved. Multiply these final hours as they prepare St. Louis for students to arrive from around the world. Holy Spirit, prepare every person coming and give them a hunger for more than an event. Birth something in this gathering that only a supernatural God could do, as healing and service sweep their hearts. We love these guys and pray that Urbana 2006 will mark history and leave the leaders smiling and in awe of You. Jesus, You are the hope of the world. Be everything at Urbana 2006! Amen.
"For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light." Colossians 1:9-12

I'll be praying for Urbana 2006! I hope something amazing will happen there. May the hearts of the people that are going there be filled with Gods glory.I want to bless the whole Urbana team for their efforts and hard work. They have put their hearts into this conference, and the preparation of it.
May God bless them in everything they do!
Isaiah 60: 1,2,3
"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn."

Father God, we lift up the Urbana leadership team and staff during this final, critical week of preparation. Lord, please protect and anoint Jim, Christy, Ericka, Matthew, Roy, and Scott with gifts of administration and vision for their particular area of leadership, and empower them with an abundance of Your strength during this very intense time. Please bless their families, as well, and fill their hearts with peace and joy, knowing You will provide all they need in their service to you. We also pray for your protection over each staff member, volunteer, speaker, teacher, musician, small group leader, and participant. Again, please pour out Your anointing upon them in their preparation, and prepare their hearts to be Your vessels for ministry in the coming weeks.
Lord, as we prepare and pray for the Passion conference, please stir up Your intercession within us for the Urbana conference as well. Please use these back-to-back conferences, and the Campus Crusade and other conferences and events, to set this generation on fire for You and send them out to ministry in their towns, on their campuses, and to the world!

I love this! I attended Campus Crusade Winter Conferences every year from 2000-2004 and they were awesome. I know sometimes people can get caught up in the midst of things and feel like organizations are competing in some crazy way, but I LOVE this truth proclaimed - that we're all on the same team, all for the same God! and He is for us! and He is at work all over the place at all these different conferences, and He has a plan why it is best that different people are at different events each year. I'm praying for St. Louis as this mass of college students fills the city - that God would stir in the city the truth that the students are not there to attend another event, but rather they are there to encounter the Living God, and reflect His love and hope to everyone in the city! Praise the Lord - He is good! His love endures forever!!

are you aware that another conference is going on in ATL right before we get there? www.impactmovement.com The impact movement will be in ATL from the 27th til the 1st when we start. The impact movement is geared toward the African American college aged christian. We should pray for them as well. And maybe some of them will stay in ATL for Passion so that they experience a conference that isnt just geared toward African Americans, but just geared toward the body of Christ as a whole. Unity with this African American conference could be AWESOME...

Wow! I just checked out the Impact Movement website - let's join in praying for the Lord to move mightily in the Impact 2006 conference!
Lord, please pour out Your Spirit upon the Impact group in Atlanta 12/26-1/1! Also, please work it out for some folks to attend both conferences, and by Your Spirit bring unity among all Your people!

What a cool thought to take time to pray for another Conference. Praying for everyone at Urbana 2006, that your days in St. Louis will be filled with His presence.

Im praying baby! And that bible verse is amazing...

True that! It is so good and humbling to step back and recognize that Passion is not all there is in Christ's body. I am finite and small and even the 20,000+ of us that will gather in Atlanta in 2 weeks are but a fraction of the makeup of the church. As a part of the 268 generation I am glad that there is more and that we aren't only about a specific group, we are about Jesus. This is helpful for me to remember this tonight.

Yah! That is super exciting to know that big things are happening with other campus ministries throughout the country! We ARE only a fraction of what is happening in America and around the world.
