The View From Above

Tonight was a special night...thanks Fairfax, VA, and everyone who made the trek to be here! We love this place and have had a great day. Special thanks to Congressmen Conway and Ryun (and the Ryun family) for the privilege of getting this beautiful (and somewhat rare) view of DC from the outside of the top of the Capitol Rotunda. Beautiful...and especially freezing!

I know we say every night is special...but it's not "tour talk." We really do feel like God has a unique purpose for each night...and even if we don't see it with our eyes, we believe He is doing incredible things.

And we were really glad it worked out for 50 Midshipmen to be with us from the Naval Academy. Thanks for jumping through all the hoops to get permission to be away for the night. We are so glad you were here!

God is great, but He knows everything about everyone of us.
It doesn't matter how many times we say it..it's stunning every single time.

On to NYC...

  • Louie - I am a kids pastor in the DC area and I was very impressed with your message last night at the Patriot Center. I was wondering how much of the message I could use to try to reach the kids in my church with the message of how big God is and how awesome He is. I went online last night and got the pictures off the hubblesite and pictures of laminin. It was so impressive and I think it could be very effective in my ministry as well with kids. I was wondering where you got the figures of the golf ball illustration to show how many fit into the Superdome, Golden Gate Bridge, Mt. Everest, and the bus. Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated!! I will be praying for the rest of the tour as I know it will impact many.

  • Here in NJ we're praying for tomorrow night's stop. I chartered a 47 passenger bus and bought 47 tickets, put it all on my personal credit card and stepped out in faith that I would be able to share Chris & Matt & Louie's message of God's love with others on Feb. 18th. Maybe some of my passion from Passion07 shone through! I'm happy to report that our tickets are sold, our bus is full and I can't wait for worship to begin. In church tomorrow morning, I'll be praying for all of you and for everyone who attends. SHINE on!

  • Louie, and everyone else reading,

just a little update that was quite amusing and encouraging to me today. Listening to the radio-countdown, there was a note made of 3 songs focusing on the theme of "Shine!" Well, I'd say, that means that God is leading all of us in that direction, and P'07 was caught right in the middle of it! Rock on!!!

  • Louie and all of the gang,

Last night was just amazing. I am a Texas girl interning up here for a year and was so glad you not only made it to Dallas but in Fairfax this year too. I would have been sad had I missed this tour. Thank you to all that had a part in this last night. God is moving.. wherever the wind blows your sail is following. Continue to stay encouraged through the word. He is with you.

  • Hi Louie!

I just have to share this with you.

Today I went to a new salon for a haircut and I struck up a conversation with the lady who was cutting my hair.

During the conversation I mentioned that I was going to the Chris Tomlin concert in Orlando next month. Believe it or not, she had no idea who Chris Tomlin was (don't laugh Matt she does not know who you are either...lol). So anyway, I explained to her who Chris was and what songs he sang and etc..

Anyway, she was very interested in hearing about Chris' music because she is a worship leader at her church and has been looking for some new songs to teach the congregation.

The church she leads for is of a mixed congregation-races, cultures, ages-and she is interested in having a variety of praise and worship songs that all races, cultures, and ages within the congregation can relate.

Anyway, to make a short story long, she and I exchanged contact info. so I can give her more details about Chris' music.

She also asked me to atend church with her as I have been looking for a new home church. She may even put me on the worship team...:).

Besides all this, it turns out that there are other things we have each been praying about and it seems God is going to use us to help each other out.

Both she and I agree that God brought us together for a reason or rather for many reasons. God is awesome :)

    On another note:

Chris' concert in Orlando on March 3 is sold out so if anyone has an extra ticket, please email me and let me know. I would love to bring this lady with me.

    Love and many thanks,

    Hadassah

  • Louie-Glad you were able to get a Dome Tour, that is one hot item! I was fortunate to get one while working for my boss on the Hill--amazing view eh?! Sorry DC was SOOOOO cold, brrr. Thank you so much for doing what you all do and traveling around this country, spreading the good of Jesus. You have no idea what an encouragement your speaking and the music of Chris, Matt, Charlie, and Crowder are to me and my life.

Keep on doing what you are doing, God is using you in awesome ways!
Travel safe--you are all in our prayers!
    Love,
    Jill

  • Doggone I love that picture!!!!!

Let thoughts of Ca keep you warm as you brave the ice cold East Coast. Today here in Central California we had a beautiful sunny 80* day! Come back soon...ok!

By Blogger Sarah Lovelace, at 2/17/2007 11:38 PM

  • Sarah--Oh my word. 80 degrees? Can you send that a bit east? :)

    Mr. Giglio and team,
That is so cool you know the Ryuns!

And I cannot tell you how excited I am you are going to NYC! I love NY. But it's so dark. I do wish more folks up there would see the light. Glad another round of folks like you are going to declare the praises of the One Who is the Truth that sets us free! And praying for you and the other believers there to continue to shine bright for HIm. Praying His blessings cover y'all and those who come.

And the guy from down south down here somewhere who wanted to go to the St. Louis concert with your friend...do you have an update? Hope y'all can go.

Lifting up everyone who has commented. God is so gracious to be working in our lives!

  • Ha ha. For some reason, instead of reading, "50 Midshipmen" in this post, I read, "50 Mishapen men".

    That made me laugh hard.
