Also Known As The Keystone State-Part 2

Pregame.

Well, we are no longer in Pennsylvania as we awakened to Ohio skies, but we will not soon forget our visit to State College, PA. At some point leaving the Keystone State was inevitable, but the images and sounds from Bryce Jordan Center will stay with us for a long, long time.

As it turns out, State College is the quintessential college town (so, obviously I was happy), sitting in the shadow (that may be too strong an image, implying something bigger than what is really there) of a single small mountain/large hill, which in earlier times was called (as were all single mountains), and I guess still is, a nittany...thus the Nittany Lion, the lion(s) that come from the mountain (Mount Nittany) that overlooks the storied campus of The Pennsylvania State University.

For more Nittany lore.

  • I'm glad you have these things to research and keep you occupied. Perhaps we should all start posting random trivia.

  • Ok, this is rediculous. Has Crowder never taken a tape measure to the two of 'em? (socks, shoes and hair don't count!)

And to add to the opinion poll, yes, Chris does look clearly taller than Matt in the picture. :)

Thanks for the info on the Lions.

But I guess if you measured them, it wouldn't be any fun anymore. But you should write it down somewhere just for the record. Lock it up and hide it if you like. :)

    Y'all are too funny.

  • Just to keep the debate alive:

It looks like Chris is wearing regular sneakers with a thick sole, and Matt's wearing Chucks which have no sole. As Charlie said at a show, Chris is wearing lifts...

  • Yup. No doubt about it, Chris is definately taller in that picture, by quite a bit, actually.

Did Chris have a giant growth spirt over the past few weeks?

  • Matt, you reading all this? Do something fast, you're in trouble! :)

    Aslan's Girl,
King David was small? I missed that one. What's the reference?

  • Okay so I took this image into Photoshop (because I have nothing better to do at 2:30am-or any other time for that matter), and as best I can tell, Chris is approximately a whole inch taller than Matt.

So there you go, Chris is taller!

But dont let the argument stop here, keep up the jokes Matt-I am sure Chris could not live without them!

  • Penn State, eh? If I had known you were going through PA, I would have visited.

I do enjoy you talking about the whole "State College/University Park" thing. Basically, you can view it as Penn State's pride - the college had been upgraded to a university, and wanted to change the name of the town. They did so on campus (to University Park), but the State College city fathers liked the old name better, so they kept it. Thus, two names.
