Auburn Is Coming To Passion07...

...and a whole lot more of you, too!

Well, you guys are speedy little typers! The Passion07 registration page didn't go live until 12 noon EST and the first 500 spots for next year's gathering (discounted at $99) were gone in 6 minutes! Six minutes. Crazy! By then, people were in the system and the second 500 (at $109) vanished in 2.5 minutes. That's 1000 people coming to Passion07 in 8.5 minutes! Amazing. It was a little like a Shuttle Launch as our team huddled around in amazement watching the registrations pour in so fast.

Even when we passed the first 1000, and "sold out" hit the web page for those prices, that didn't seem to slow things down too much. In less than an hour over 2200 people have staked their place in Atlanta from places like New Zealand, Alabama and Alberta, Canada. In the first hour alone we had people register from Ontario, California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Texas, Florida, New York, Maine!, Virginia, Oklahoma and states in between.

The very first one to make it through was Michael from Auburn University. For that, we'll be gifting Michael both Passion06 iTunes Bundles today!

And it's still going...while I am typing this we have said hello to Hannah, registering a group from Ohio, Jennifer from NJ, Stephanie from sunny Florida, Quincee from Texas, Robert from Pennsylvania and Kellyn from Georgia. And, very cool, registration #268 just came through (not person 268, registration form #268) from Ashley from Alabama. Turns out she's a Bama student so we have equal time for the two dreaded foes from the state where "Stars Fell." Ashley, we're going to send you the iTunes Bundles, too, for representing the 268 Generation!

Seems crazy with ten months to go. The movement is gaining momentum!

  • I was all pumped about trying to be in the 500 or 1000 people....then I slept in and didn't wake up until 12:10. So I was going to rush through registration, but then I remembered I have class at 12. As it turns out I was over 15 minutes late to class AND I didn't get registered. :(

  • Hey Louie,

In the past, you guys have provided group discount codes for each individual hotel. Do you plan to do that again? That would allow people to book online if they so chose. Just a thought..

    Thanks for being a servant.

  • WHOAA.... NO "COME AND LISTEN"????

I just looked at that track listing link above... Louie... PLEASE put that on there to open the CD... everyone from our group talks about how that song was so representative of what the week meant to them... it would be so perfect to open the CD with it...

    Please?

  • It's not just you guys in the US doing the whole iTunes thing well! It's hit Australia now!

If you have iTunes, go to the music store, and at the bottom there is a little menu that should say "USA," "Canada" or whatever. Change that to "Australia" and check out what is hovering at about no.9 at the moment. Keep in mind that they haven't done any web publicity like the 268blog has, so this is a pretty cool effort!

  • Come and listen. . .Come to the waters edge all you. . .who are thirsty come. . .

If not on the cd...could we atleast get it on itunes?

  • What katie said was something that I thought about today a good bit. Passion is for living our lives between these conferences, not for these conferences. I dont mean to say that anyone reading this blog has this problem, but it is just something I thought about today. That said, I dont think I could be more excited about Passion07 ATL than I am right now.
I also absolutely loved "Come and Listen" and hoped to get that sweet live version of it on the CD; those would be memories brought back. But Louie and the team probably has a good reason why it didnt make the cut.

  • Katie,

Right on, sister! Thank you for your post! Yes, it's exciting to look forward to P'07 (I can't wait, either:), but it's much more important to live in Christ's footsteps right here and now, in our lives wherever we are all over the world!

  • War Eagle (obviously God is doing great things in that lovely Alabama town),

Our little group made into the elite 500 as well, and we had made hotel reservation around January 2nd in ATL to get a head start on the journey. Luckily, we are only 45 minutes south of that wonderful city.

Great things are to come from God at work in this movement.

    Everything is glorious,

  • Hey Louie/Passion Team,

How do you guys feel about that Urbana'06 is also happening this year? I know it isn't a competition on who's "conference" is better, but I remember back at OneDay'03 how some people commented that they could only choose one to go to, and they choosed OneDay'03 over Urbana'03. I went to both, mainly because I was convicted at OneDay'03 to learn more about getting involved with missions.

What would you encourage those who are facing these two awesome events? I know it's still sorta early(well not really), but I'm curious as to your thoughts on that. Either way, students will be drawing closer to God at both events and hearing God's heart for the people in this world.
