Long And Glorious Day
The alarm went off at 4 this morning...
We're at GMA and have had a great/full and long week. Thanks for your prayers Sunday night. It was a huge honor to lead about 2000 people in worship as the week began, pushing Jesus to the front and center and reminding us all that there is just one person that this stuff is all about. We did our best to honor Him and focus our attention on the only one worthy. The hours before and since have been filled with interviews, meetings, video tapings, catching up with friends, getting awards and, this morning, the non-stop round of morning radio shows. The guys are veterans at this, but I was along with Chris talking about the Everything Glorious release and 4 AM is not my favorite time of the day.
Between 5 and 9:30 I think we were on live with about 10 stations, and then we capped it off with me, DC and Chris on with our friends Rick and Bubba by phone.
Lot's of questions for me about Passion...So Louie, we've all heard the music and know these amazing worship leaders, but what is Passion??? Can you tell us what it's all about. I wanted to say, "How long will you be on the air today?" But managed in a minute to cast vision for a generation going after the fame of God...lives turned around to see that we are here for Him and our lives matter most when they matter for what matters most!
It was so cool to be in the Renaissance Hotel (where all these stations broadcast live during the week) and across the street from the Gaylord, remembering our days here and telling the nation about His glory. And as a bonus, most talked about the CD and K-Love and KTIS in MSP played tracks for their listeners this morning, too. Very kind.
All that to say, it's 9:30 PM and the day is still rolling. DC is at the Grand Ole Opry doing a sound check for his song at the Doves tomorrow night and we are yet to wind down after a really full day. But there is much favor on this humble movement of ours and people are noticing the ripples of your lives, this mighty army running after God.
Passion is not about GMA, but nonetheless, we are here in the midst of it, wanting to be true to who we are and who He is. On many occasions we have had the chance to say in front of lots of people, "It's all about one name-Jesus Christ." And we're not the only ones feeling that way. The place is filled with lovers of Jesus in all shapes and flavors. Yesterday, we were recognized with the GMA Impact Award, an acknowledgement of the way God has used Passion and sixsteps in the past few years to touch Christian music and the world. Crazy. Humbling. God. Thank you.
Tomorrow brings more stuff and then the Doves, where sixsteps/Passion hold about 18 nominations. Whatever is given, we will gratefully receive. Either way, our mission is clear.
Shelley mentioned Isaiah 26:12 (not 8!) in accepting the Impact Award yesterday, where it reads in part..."All we have accomplished, You have done for us."
Jesus, today You are glorious still!

what's amazing is how ksbj is next door to a mission field ripe for harvest, also known as my alma mater of humble high school. definitely a dark place to be kept in prayer

Hey Guys the pics are great!!
I REALLY wanted to catch you guys on the KLOVE morning show but 6am is far too early for this west coaster. I'm barely rolling out of bed and stumbling into the shower at that time. I hear it was a great time though!!!
P.S. The CD is far beyond amazing!!!
By Sarah Lovelace, at 4/04/2006 10:27 PM
hey Louie...maybe you can encourage Tomlin and the boys to update their blog.
By Sarah Lovelace, at 4/04/2006 10:38 PM
So glad that you guys are having a great time in the Ville of Nash! Wish I was there too! I didn't order my CD until Sunday night (my mom kinda got fed up with my excitment and put it on her debit card... yay momma!) so I haven't gotten to listen to it yet. The 30 second clips have definately been listened to A LOT today!
My mom said that she heard one of you guys on KLove this morning... but she can't remember who. She said that the guy she heard was really funny.
I also agree with Sarah... Tomlin and the other guys have gone more than a month without any updates! Just wondering what's going on in their world... How's Lucky? How are Austin and Dylan doing? Anything else going on that we can pray for? Encouragement in the update department would be greatly appreciated!
For HIS Glory,
Andrea

Louie, you can't go wrong if your heart is in your words "wanting to be true to who we are and who He is "
What a great declaration!!!!
Praying that you all have great time at the awards and that the Name of Jesus is lifted up above all.
Enjoy!!!

how great a question is 'what is passion?' and getting the chance to answer it! love the cd, truly feel like i'm back in nashville. chills and sore throat and tears and sweaty t-shirt and all! impact award is so well-deserved. thanks from all of us fellow worshippers! agree with stephanie, the shoes are sweet, please don't ever wear them while you're frying a turkey. :)

So I burned a copy of the new cd from my friend's iTunes today... now before you cringe, I had to do it... mine hasn't arrived in the mail yet and I just couldn't wait any more. I will destroy the burned copy once mine arrives in my mailbox :)
LOVE it, by the way. You guys and gals make me love Jesus more.

WooHoo KLTY!! Too bad I missed your interview this morning though. =(
Louie, I'm just absolutely blown away by how God is using you and your gifts. He has you every where! Every time, I'm shocked to see this event, or that event, a camp, Passion, a Northpoint program, an album record. You're involved in some kind of way, whether it's being a speaker or behind the scenes. I am just amazed how you take God's glory into everything that you do and you never stop or give up! You are truly one of the most influential people to have and continually impact my life. Praise God for having one such as you to impact this world and further God's kingdom! Thank you so much for all you do!

Nice to see a pic of everybody there at the end... I hope you're not working Carrie and Mike too hard this week Louie! Good to hear that things are good after a long day of interviews and a CD release... I'm continuing to pray as you guys head into the Dove's tomorrow... ALL glory and honor be to our amazing and wonderful God

Louie,
Thank you so much for sharing your pictures, your thoughts, and your heart with us this week :) How wonderful to hear you guys giving all the glory to Him! Thank you all so much for staying humble and rightly focused in the midst of all this honor. Yesterday was a great post btw - honoring those we don't know about. And thanks for sharing Shelley's heart at the Impact awards - Is 26:12 "All we have accomplished, You have done for us." You give that girl a hug! :)
Blessings to you all~
btw - enjoying the cd :)

thank you so much louie for letting God use you to reach college students and all the other people God has impacted through you. It would be cool to either read or hear your view on what passion is. the whole story the tangable parts and the spirtiaul parts.
on another point.
I think this album has released a disease amoung its listeners: Uncontrollable repetitive listening. I just hope their is no cure, the album is so amazing it gives you the right perspective on all situations.
on yet another point:
if you are planning or thinking about going to passion 07 check out www.frappr.com/passion07 and feel free to place yourself on the map.

4 AM is possibly the worst time of the day ever. I agree. Thanks for the wonderful cd. I'm sure the part of the hard drive it's on doesn't like me very well right now.

You have the "Passion Family", and we are the "Extended Passion Family!"
And they will know that we are Christian's by our love by our love, and they will know that we are Christian's by our love.
It only takes a spark to get a fire going, and soon all those around can warm up in its glowing; that's how it is with God's love, once you've experienced it, you want to tell everyone, you want to pass it on!

CONGRATULATIONS! I am from Nashville and was so pumped at all the GMA awards going home for SixStepRecords. Chris Tomlin is my favorite worship leader-I have seriously asked God if he could lead worship in my area of heaven! So, I am happy for you guys and how God is using your talents for His glory! WOW!

It's hard to believe that in 1999 when I went to my first Passion conference it was barely a blip on the radar screen of American Christianity... Now it has blossomed into a worldwide movement... Congrats to all who won Dove Awards!! It's amazing what God is doing in you guys, and I've been blessed just to have heard, experienced, and worshipped to your music...
