Still Time To Share Your Story

THANKS to all of you who have called to share your stories on the Passion 07 Podcast line. We've received calls from across the nation and even one super-long distance call from Europe. It's been amazingly encouraging to hear what God did during those days and what He continues to do now. Later this week we'll be recording the episode where your stories are included and there's still time for you to tell us yours. I know capturing your experience at Passion 07 in a minute or two is not easy--and I realize the thought of it is intimidating to some--but we'd love to hear from you before the recording line closes in 2 days!

All you need to do is call 1-678-280-2772...say your first name and where you're calling from...and share away!

It's been almost two months since Passion 07 ended (that seems crazy), but we know the ripples are still circling the globe today. Give a little ring (I've been around Redman too long!) and let us hear from you! The final episodes of the Passion 07 Podcast will return soon with your voices included!

SHINE!

  • just thought i'd pass this on to anyone that sees it -- i talked to an old friend last night and she said she's been praying for the past 2 weeks Psalm 51:10,12 - praying for her personal passion for Jesus to grow. so as i was looking it up today, looking at different translations and this just reminded me of Passion07, so i put this on my computer to look at all day:

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and put a fresh wind in my sails!

  • anyone else memorizing Colossians? i've gotten through chapters 1 & 2 since Passion.

    thanks for the suggestion, Louie!

Praise God that He's given me the desire to do this. it's been an absolute JOY. i don't think I've ever felt that way about memorizing scripture!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 2/28/2007 1:15 PM

  • i'm working on colossians as well, but you're moving WAY faster than i am! that's awesome!!!

By Blogger Melissa, at 2/28/2007 6:02 PM

  • hey Anneleen, I'm from Holland as well:-)

By Blogger Jacoline, at 2/28/2007 6:30 PM

  • I'm working through Colossians, but I've only gotten through chapter 1. It's been AMAZING so far! God's really been reminding me and teaching me a lot through that one chapter!

  • See you all in Birmingham Tomorrow night!! There are supposed to be storms!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 2/28/2007 11:50 PM

  • Rock on guys! God is really going to use this in our lives.

Psalm 119:11- I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

  • Not memorizing Colossians, but I am immersing myself in it. I've read from it every day since Passion, but I use different translations using a reading plan I devised. So far, I've read with TNIV, NLT, KJV (that was HARD!) and am now working on The Message. Then, I journal and/or post on the blog about insights God is offering through the reading. It has been really interesting ...

  • Thought this quote might be an encouragement as you travel on the tour. Found it last night in the midst of my studies re: the elements of praise Psalms.

"One of these [distinctive praise] elements is the elevation and exaltation of the person being praised. A second one is the directing of the speaker's whole being away from himself or herself toward the object of praise. Psalms of praise are filled with the speaker's feelings, but we do not look at the speaker. Instead, we share his feelings as a way of experiencing the worthiness of God. In the words of C.S. Lewis, "The poet is not a man who asks me to look at him; he is a man who says 'look at that' and points.'" Another ingredient of much praise is testimony. Praise, in other words, has a communal dimension to it, and it often occurs in a worship setting."

Leland Ryken, "How to read the Bible As Literature," (Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 1984). Quote from C.S. Lewis & Tillyard, "The Personal Heresy," (London: Oxford University Press, 1939).

  • Louie, I didn't make the deadline for the story sharing, but I thought I'd let you know how great it was to be able to go to Passion this year. It was a great encouragement and i really helped me when I left for South Asia a few days after. I want you to know that my silver "shine" bracelet saw 4 different countries on 3 different continents. One of the main purposes for our trip was to shine, to be a light in the spiritually dark and war-torn country that we were in. The GO center was especially helpful in the encouragement and preparation, it helped me deal with some fears and such that I was just kind of pushing to the back. I thought that it was ironic, that the buzz word for Passion this year was shine, and thats exactly what I was going to be doing and did in South Asia. I honestly think that it was a huge God thing. Thanks again for everything. God's blessings on your endeavors this year, I'll be praying for you and the whole Passion family.

P.S. - Is there any way to get one of the "Shine" shirts from Passion? They ran out of my size before I could get one...

  • I kept waiting to see if Louis would post anything about Chatt. to leave a comment but I had to share this. A friend and NEW believer who is a Dr. came Tue. night. He was so moved by everything but especially laminin. He went home researched it and it is now on his computer! There are many other stories of blessings from that night but as usual God showed up to meet people in awesome ways!

I also made an earth shattering discovery Tue. I received a call Tue. afternoon that Matt was in a coffee shop where many from our church work. When my husband and I were walking to our places to usher for the concert we saw Matt and I just had to ask him if anyone had bothered to tell him that coffee stunts his growth. He said he found out too late. Well, I say why give up...how will he ever catch up with Chris if he doesn't stop stunting his growth?! We love you guys! May The Lord continue to bless and protect you physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

  • Chatt was amazing Tues, I agree. I wasn't sure if anything was going to be said about it. I was almost certain the floor of that beautiful building was about to cave in though.

  • 2 months since Atlanta....it's weird to think about. Seems like a month ago at most, but wow the time's flying! I know the ripples are still going through my heart.....and alot of my friends who went...God's molding/working alot! Thanks again for all you guys have done/are doing! I know I don't speak just for myself when I say the Passion movement has helped me to connect to Him in a so much more intense way than I think I would have otherwise. I'll be praying for you guys!

btw-any plans to make a stop in Kansas City? just wonderin'!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3/01/2007 11:09 PM

  • Oh my word, Anonymous. You have GOT to be kidding. Coffee stunts growth? Seriously? I guess it doesn't completely surprise me--the stuff is so toxic... Not like it helps me any though--my system skipped out on the growth thing long before I started drinking coffee--but that's interesting. :)

Anonymous 11:09--I agree and can testify to some of the same. And to all--keep sharing. It's such a blessing! Glad to be hearing of what God is doing!

  • Louie,
Words really don't describe last night in Birmingham. The sweet spirit that things started with after a very rough day. That God's grace is enough. The guys were awesome as always! Seeing roadies off stage praising God is priceless. And your really brought it last night!

Being close enough to see the conviction all of your eyes..wow. SO glad that our God holds it all together. May he continue to hold all your efforts together on the tour and as Passion heads around the world.

    For his glory

  • Hey guys, we didn't forget about you or your podcast! You told us you were working on an episode featuring us sharing our experiences (which I'm listening to right this second), so I'm sure most people just knew we'd have to wait for it a little bit. =)
Glad the podcast is back, thought!

Oh yeah, and I'm pretty bummed that I won't get to see you guys tonight at Philips Arena. I was at Passion and a friend of mine was carrying the Passion '07 CDs around school today...I miss you! Haha. Is there gonna be any chance of a DVD or CD from the How Great Is Our God tour?

    Thanks for everything you do!

  • Thank-you so much for the Passion '07 podcasts. Each week that we have had one, I have saved it for Sunday night to listen to right before I go to bed. (College student = 1 or 2am!). It is such a fresh way to start the week.

So thanks for sharing them with us!
