Hope And Love For The Hokies

Today we are remembering the Virginia Tech community as we cross the anniversary of the tragic events that rocked the campus and the nation last year. Our thoughts and prayers are yours today, as well as our hope for a future that continues to honor the dreams of those whose lives were lost. They are not forgotten, nor are all of you at VaTech.

May we show kindness and compassion to all who have suffered loss, and may we live this day for what matters most.

For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself; for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. Romans 14:7-9.

    Everyone needs compassion
    a love that's never failing
    let mercy fall on me
    Everyone needs forgiveness
    the kindness of a Savior
    the Hope of nations

Savior, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
    He is mighty to save
    Forever Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
    Jesus conquered the grave!

So take us as You find us
    all our fears and failures
    Fill our lives again
We give our lives to follow
    Everything we believe in
    Now we surrender

Savior, You can move the mountains
Our God is Mighty to Save
    You are Mighty to Save
    Forever, Author of salvation
You rose and conquered the Grave
    Jesus conquered the Grave!

    So shine Your light and
    let the whole World see
    We're singing
    For the glory
    of the Risen King!

    He is MIGHTY TO SAVE

  • God
i pray that through these tragedies students are still able to "focus on your cross and never take their eyes off"-LG. I pray also that through so much pain, at least one person got their bow on top. i pray for an awakening of your spirit on that campus. I pray for healing and power to fall down for many today as they are still mourning the death of someone that was lost. We praise you for what you are going to do and beleive that you can heal us and restore us. Thank you Jesus and its in your precious name...
    AMEN

I am agreeing with you, May God's Grace, healing Power, and the Holy Spirit Reign on the campus of VT today and forward as people still mourn. May students ask the hard questions that lead them to the CROSS of JESUS!!!

    Again love the Psalms:

"Be Still and Know That I am
    God".....

    God Bless,
    Angela

  • For thine is the Kingdom and Power and the Glory forever and ever Amen!

Lord I thank you for these students, who lives were changed so much by this tragedy. Lord I'm believing you are continuing to use them in powerful ways because of it, because of who YOU are in the midst of it. Continue to use them as a beacon of Your light that shines across this nation. Give them Hope, give them Joy, give them a Fire that can't be put out by this world. We love you Jesus, so much. Amen

  • Totally off-topic... but, Just had to say I am listening to the atlanta podcast and I am loving it!!! What Francis is sharing is so important! Thanks Louie!!!
Geez, I wish I could have been there...

  • Praying still...

  • off topic as well.. but wanted to comment on the podcast from PassionATL.

Francis (Chan Yan Faan)'s chinese was awesome. i laughed and cheered at Passion07 as well as at PassionDC, and laughed at this podcast too! i think it's higher level than a 5 year old but he's got an american accent. haha... he's definitely got a bunch of north american chinese ppl (like myself and a few others) watching out for what he says in chinese! not to worry Mr. Luigi Giglio, its actual chinese. first part of John 3:16 actually. not jibberish!

thanks for the brief outline of what happened at PassionATL. really wished i could've been there as i dont think the podcast did it justice. but just hearing bits and pieces of what happened, people's responses with the 'tocks and sowels', and updates on the world tour... it is so amazing to know that everybody wants to contribute to the movement. that the purpose of all this is to see His name lifter higher than any other name. He truly is the NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES.

to other people reading this, please pray for the missions team from my church that will be heading to Uganda. They will be arriving the week prior to and joining in on the Passion gathering in Kampala. talk about God's perfect timing! Greater things are still to be done in that city, and greater things WILL happen.
