28 Day Journey-Day Nineteen
Friday 12/23//05 19 Pilgrimage
We are on a journey and I mean more than a trip to Nashville. Much more. We are after our Creator, wrestless souls longing to be in the arms of a Father who has made us. A Father whose arms are home. We are happy here on earth, but not fully satisfied. In fact, as the days mount in this thing called life earth looks less and less promising, not more and more inviting. But thats OK. Were just here for a brief visit. We're on our way, headed home.
Were not anti-earth. Rather, pro heaven. As long as were here we'll enjoy this place, while fighting on for the Name that sets us free. But we have a departure date just ahead. And, speaking for myself, when I am gone, shed no tears for me. My final destination blows this place away.
In the meantime, Lord willing, I'm headed to Nashville and so are a ton of you. Were coming on planes, on buses, in vans and in cars. In fact, some of you still arent exactly sure how you're going to get there. But youre coming. You're determined. You're on a pilgrimage. We are all, and it wont be easy.
In these last days many obstacles will come, trials from without and within that seek to impede our successful arrival at Passion06. In fact, for us death has been at our door all fall long. Cancer, has been our companion. The struggle, ever-present. But were still coming, no matter what.
Get ready for them. Job changes. Financial worries. Family crisis. Illness. Friends bailing. Schedules crashing. Stuff happening. Many things will try to stand in the way, but lets pray today
Lord, You are sovereign over all things, and over all of us. Lead us to Nashville under Your care. Thwart enemy plans that might stop us from being a part of all You have in store. And even today open the way for others to come. Those who are hoping for a financial miracle or a change of heart from a parent. Please open the way.
Thank You for the provision You have made so far, and for all You have done to aim 17000 of us toward Nashville. We will continue to trust in You. Passion06 is not our prize. You are what we want. And heaven is the end of the race we run. Today we are leaning that way, toward You, toward home. We love You and long for You, Jesus.
Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. Psalm 84:5

Lord as everyone gets all the details down let satan's attempt to mess things up be blown out the door. May you be right there with us in our pilgramige to seek you as everyone travels to Nashville. Lord I pray for safe travel as 17,000 of us come from all across the nation, not to go to an event to have a good time Lord but to glorify you and everything that you do. Without you Lord I would be nothing but with you and through you you make all things a possibility. As the final touches are put together over Christmas Lord I want to pray for all the speakers and worships leaders that are helping to make this a possibility. I pray that you give them the wisdom and patience to put it all together. Lord I want to pray for everyone that is coming. That everyone would be open to you working on their lives and their hearts. Lord that it wouldn't be about the people or the event or the center that we are in Lord but that it would be about you and nothing else. Lord as the 2nd draws closer I pray that you prepare everyone's heart for what is going to happen. I love you Lord and I can't wait to see what you have in store for everyone in Nashville.

Dear Lord
Yes keep the enemy away,we pray he would not even come close to Passion!!!Lord I pray that all the students who will be driving to get to Passion that they would be protected and safe on there way!!
And they would come prepared and ready to give all glory to you!!I pray that they all would feel you!
It all about you God,It's all about you,we love you!I also ask Lord that you would protect Mr.Giglio,Mr.Tomlin,Crowder,CharlieHall these wonderful followers of you,I pray you would not let the enemy come near them in any way.

God, as we get ready for Passion, it is easy to get distracted by this break from school. Without a consistent schedule, we fall away from our routines of spending time with you and in worship, which makes it easy for Satan to get a footstool into our lives. We may be surrounded by old temptations, or new ones. You know our struggles God, and you know what may be holding us back. We give those up to You. Lord, give us the strength to endure these trials; help us ready our hearts for meeting with you at Passion by fleeing from the devil. We are excited to see what you are going to do!

Thank you Lord. Thank you for the promises you have given us and providing each of us with a way and the means to get to Nashville.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Lord, as the time approaches, we know the enemy will be trying every way to thwart Your plan. Let us remember that although he is evil and the father of all lies and deceit, that you Lord are mightier than he. As satan tries in every way to throw obstacles our way; be it health, financial, jobs, whatever; let us take up your full armor of protection and rest assured that you will destroy all of the fiery darts he has to throw our way. Lord, we have 17,000+ students, lead worshipers, speakers, staff & volunteers coming together in 10 days, not for our own pleasure or for excitement of the event, but for honor and glory to You oh Lord. That we may see You fully for who You are and that we come with open hearts and souls to receive You into our hearts. That we may come with a thirst and hunger for you Lord. As the deer panteth for the water, let us long for you in that same way. Let this generation and many more be the ones that want to fully seek you and long for you. Lord we continue to pray for those who have already been hit with health issues of cancer, for You are bigger than their cancer, You are bigger than any trial or suffering we endure. Lord we lift them up to You that You give them strength to carry on. That You reach down with Your healing hands to touch them in their need for you Lord. Lord we love You and praise You. For it is in the mighty name of Your Son Jesus Christ that we pray....Amen.

Lord, I thank you for this day on earth where I can walk with you and serve You. I thank you evenmore Lord for the future you have in store for your children. May I never forget where you brought me from and I am headed. Everyday may I reminded what I'm here for and that this life is only a breath in the eternity You have ordained for Your children. Put in me an urgency to share about You and serve You. Watch us Lord as we prepare for Passion06. Satan is going to try so hard to stop us from coming to meet with You. Keep us safe and may we continually trust that You alone are in control. Jesus, I anxiously await the amazing, life-changing things you are doing and will do at Passion06!

Satan's attacks are real, but so uncreative. Worry seeps in as finances don't match up, travel plans fall through, and parents or other people don't approve or understand the need for the pilgrimage (beautifully put, Louie). Lord, you are bigger than doubts, worry, fear and thwarted plans. We trust that you hold us in your palm as you lead us to Nashville next week. We come to worship you and nothing can stand in your way.
