Nashville Awaits

Today was a busy day as teams of volunteers arrived in Nashville to join our core team which was already hard at work. Passion 06 is taking shape right before our very eyes. It's late and the hockey game is over and the ice is being covered. If you're up late reading this, pray for the crew that is about to spend all night setting up production in the Arena.

I took this shot of the Gaylord this afternoon. A bit of relative quiet before the Passion storm.

The next pic is a bunch of great volunteers stuffing thousands of your registration bags with maps, wristbands, your name tags and the like. But they were in for a little surprise, because the building they were working in was also home today to band sound checks/rehearsals. That band way in the background in the last pic is the Chris Tomlin Band. (You can barely see Chris behind the arm of the green equipment.) So, the bag stuffers got to rock out and worship with their own private Tomlin concert. Trust me, at Passion we treat our pe
ople right!

Not too much sleep for our crew tonight. But there is sense that we are on the verge of something special. We are praying for you and can't wait for you to arrive!

PS-We are working on getting a version of Kneel--the 24 hour prayer journey that will be happening throughout Passion 06--on the 268 website so you Passion friends that can't be in Nashville can pray with us during the conference. Watch for it later Monday/Tuesday.

  • Louie,

Thank you and all the volunteer-staff for putting together a meeting that will be beyond awesome! We're already here at the GO! center, and can't wait for tonight (even though some of us will be "working" -- if living for God is work, really!)!

To all you all out there, just remember us in your prayers, just that God's grace would be truly ENOUGH for us (sorry, it's jammin' overhead:)

    Nothing but smiles down here!

  • Jacoline & others,

Thanks so much for your prayers. God's spirit is really moving here as we speak. There really are no words to describe it. But the 2 spirits are clashing, yet there is this energy in the air. I am really looking forward to working with my group of students in my group. I am excited, yet nervous, but know that the Holy Spirit will guide me through this. We won't have alot of time to blog every day since we didn't have access from our room as expected, so we are blogging from the go center.

    In Christ,

  • Hey, y'all,

I'm down South, and I'm gett'n my southern drawl back! Yeehaw! Needless to say, there wasn't much sleep in a room of 4 excited girls last night, but, somehow (miraculously) we're all awake now!

The first big meeting will be at 7pm central time tonight, so seriously, remember us in prayers then as we try to do impossible things (such as filling up an arena completely without assigned seats). Pray for the leaders, especially the volunteer leaders, and especially that we would all act in God's peace (and not stress out over little things). He's in control!

We'll try to blog again this week, although it means having to drag a backpack along (which is sometimes not convenient).

    See y'all,

    Silke

  • have fun in nashville, everyone! i just came back from a Campus Crusade conference with hundreds of college students from all over western canada, it was amazing! how powerful it is to be sent back to our campuses in the power of the Spirit!

as Louie mentioned in the last post, don't forget to also pray for all the other conferences, gatherings and retreats that are going on right now from all over.

truly, 'it's rising up, ALL AROUND, it's the anthem of the LORD'S RENOWN!"
