One More To Go

As we head to our snow day make up in Columbus Sunday, we are carrying great memories of LR and St. Louis...

And though tonight's entry may be brief (but then again, there aren't too many of you reading the Blog on a Friday night at midnight anyway, right!), don't take that as a slight to our last two stops. Though they did not involve any close up encounters with ferocious collegiate mascots, we loved being in Little Rock last night and at the Family Arena tonight.

St. Louis, as you know, was supposed to be our final stop...and what a great ending it would have been. But we are counting on Columbus to pull through Sunday night and put a huge exclamation point on this nation-wide trek.

We are officially wiped...but God has never been intimidated by our weakness, rather He relishes in the opportunity to breathe through weary vessels. And, as though there was ever any question, once a night like tonight is done it is clear that anything of power that was left behind is of God and not of man.

Again, we are grateful for your prayers. I know we say that over and over, but we never tire of standing in the words that you offer to God for us...and as we do, it's more than just us crossing the nation..it's US.

PS-Thank you for the paper clip!

I'm definitely the only person reading the blog at Midnight!!! I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your willingness to champion such a message to our generation! I will continue to lift you and all of the Passion crew up in prayer daily! The next time I see you will be at the Dove's! See you then!

    For His Renown!

  • There are more reading your blog at midnight than you might think! :)

Your midnight message has been an encouragement to me. Thank you. Yep, it would be God to love breathing through weary vessels to show that HE ALONE is the Strong One. Good thing it's not me that has to come up with all that strength. 'Cause I can't do it. I'd much rather enjoy Him being the great One, the Provider, the Accomplisher of His perfect will through me--'cause He gets the glory. Cooperating with that can be the challenging part, but even there He gives His grace. Indeed, what an encouragement to the weary! And it all goes right along with Isaiah 40:28-31!! Is God amazing or what?!

Y'all get good rest soon as you can. :) In the mean time, you're obviously resting in the Lord.

    You bet we're prayin'!!
    Love you guys.

Just got home from the show in St. Louis. Amazing. Thank you for enduring through the end, guys because God used you as weary as you are and spoke a few different things to me... about how small I am (sin has really been puffing me up lately. I'm deflating as we speak), how much He loves me & has done for me, and that every single miniscule moment of my life needs to be lived truly and fully only for HIM.
So many songs spoke what my heart felt or what my heart needed to be reminded of. And the talk blew me away. I LOVE those talks. Not just because it's nifty science, gorgeous pictures, and outrageous stats. But it truly shows, in places we don't think of, how AWESOME God is!
Whirlpool Galaxy, The Pale Blue Dot, Canus Majoris, Laminin...Keep 'em coming, Lord. I think my brain might explode with excitement and wonder at Your universe!

  • There a definitely more people reading the blog at midnight (because of all the time differences, midnight in the US is morning in Holland!)
I have been praying for the tour everyday! And I can't believe it's almost over! It felt like I was really there with you guys, but
unfortunately I couldn't go to one of the concerts...need to cross an ocean for that, but I'm looking forward to see Chris perform here in Holland at the EO youth day. It will be my first time as press to attend this youth day! My fourth time at the EO youth day. My second time seeing Chris lead worship.

My daily routine is checking this blog, Chris' blog and my friends blog and biblegateway and today the verse of the day at biblegateway is:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”- Romans 6:23

I just wanted to share that!

I keep you guys in my prayers! Continue to pray for you after the tour. I guess it will be weird to not be on the tour anymore..and be back home! Take care and God bless, Jacoline

  • PTL! The paperclip issue is resolved. My heart can be at peace.

One last night ~ Finish strong, my friends!

  • You are underestimating the number of people who compulsively blog-check or refresh their Google Reader when procrastinating from work or waiting for friends to get ready or whatnot.

Anyway, I am looking forward to hearing about Columbus, and I am still praying for you guys and the people who you are ministering to with God's love and might.

  • I wondered how God was answering my prayers for the tour, so I searched for "chris tomlin" here on blogger. My two favorite answers were

http://kortneyhohle.blogspot.com/(Feb 4; Laminin holds us together; read the comments)

(Mar 21; Amazing testimony at Chris Tomlin; scroll down to see Solomon's foot; it'll make you weep).

Hope you guys get to Sabbath today.

  • Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
    The LORD is the everlasting God;
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and His understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strentgh to the weary,
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youth grow tired and weary,
and young men will stumble and fall-
But those who hope in the LORD,
    they will renew their strength,
they will soar on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary,
and they will walk an not faint!

Praying for you all, that your strength would be renewed as you wait in the LORD, and that as you continue to run (or walk) this race you will know what it feels like to soar on His wings.

  • Louie,
As you spoke of the immensity of God last night on the St. Louis leg of the tour, I was reminded of something reavealed as I was meditating on the same subject some years ago.

How infinite is God? God could take that immense universe that He created with a word, place it in the palm of His hand, along with thousand others just as large, and STILL HAVE AS MUCH ROOM LEFT AS HE DID WHEN HE STARTED.

Since that time, I have realized that no matter what or how big my thoughts are about the Almighty Eternal, I'M THINKING TOO SMALL.

While Chris was leading 'Glory in the Highest', I thought, "I could do this forever". My next thought, was "I WILL".

I appreciate the message of God's Glory that you guys spread. Thanks for providing a setting to totaly abandon myself in worship of the only one worthy of it.

    To the Glory Of God,

  • Hey Louie, Matt, and Chris,

    ROck on for God!!

I have been praying for you guys almost every noght for the Holy Spirit to show up, for your health & Strength as you serve the people of God. It is such an ecouragement to see that God has answered many prayers throughout this tour.

I must say that I am sad to see this tour end as well. However, you guys can now focus in the future of this year with passion and with Chris and Matt leading worship at their local church and feeling inspired to write new songs.

Thank you guys for reminding us of How BIg our God is and that he cares fo reach one of us....

Louie, thank you for your current sermon - needed to be inspired by Joseph's story (by the way, my aunt emailed me the same lessons from Joseph's life (Is God cool or what to make sure a message gets across to his people if we are listening !!

    Thank you all,

  • Last night after an incredible night of worship with Louie and the boys my family was involved in a hit and run. It messed up my van from the front door to the very back of the van. God blessed us with front row tickets the day before the event, He enabled my wife and three young children to experience a taste of what I did at Passion this year in the ATL, and then He spared us our lives coming home and I was the only one who was hurt, and nothing too serious, and nothing I am not used to. God has not wasted the gift of pain in my life.

Anyway, after your talk last night, it instantly was put to use in dealing with a devastating real life situation where I had to realize how small I was/am. Small to 15 feet, 2 Golden Gate bridges end to end, 6 Empire State buildings on top of each other, or Mount Everest. But let's face it guys, Big Dog is a little dog compared to our big God. That was obviously the flipside of Louie's talk, you are small, God is "Oh, my." Except I do not like "Oh, my," how about God is, I AM...

So now if Canus Majoris was the Golf Ball and we were trying to get a handle on God we could not even place a Sharpie on the expanse of the whole of creation, and even that would be minimizing the great I AM, the all powerful One who spoke each of us into existence and holds us together with His thoughts, or Laminin. Did science just label an attribute of God?

Thank you for repenting and coming to the STL! You are always welcome anytime, doing anything next week?

  • I am from Knoxville, so perhaps my comment belongs on the blog a few entries back that mentions Knoxville, but this is where I feel compelled to leave this comment.

Louie man, I have got to find the picture of laminin that you stuck up on the screen! I have googled it, and found a bunch of neat pictures, but not the picture that was on the screen... I want to make it my computer background. How do I get a hold of that thing??? This message just screams that true science and the Bible have the same author; I am thankful for that!

I will continue to pray for what you and the passion team are praying/working for! We (the college kids) want to let passion know that we are totally behind this movement because it is the fulfillment of God's call upon all of our lives, but in a radical way!

thank You for using passion to change my life. the ripples just keep spreading-- in my life alone!

  • I want you to know that I got tickets to the Little Rock show for my birthday, but wan't able to make it up because I had a Cal 3 test first thing friday morning. So I gave the tickets to my brother and he said it was amazing (it was the first time that he has seen you and Tomlin in person, I've been to the last three Passions and I went to the inderscirbable tour when ya'll came to LR). What you talked aboutreally gripped his heart and he accepted Christ at the concert.

Thanks for what you do Louie. You continue to change lives in my family.

  • Hey Louie - Thanks for coming to St. Louis. I know I haven't been voted into office yet, but I can speak for all of us in Cardinal Nation that we were moved by your message from God's Word, Chris and Matt's music from God's Word. By the way...great choice to pick up Pujols on your Fantasy team...he'll come through for you!

Okay, so here is why I'm writing...I really hope you read this. Light travels at 186,000 METERS per second, not miles per second. Sorry to be critical, but I thought you might want to get that right! If you need anymore cool science info about our amazing God, please kick me an e-mail: treygriggs@hotmail.com

I'm a communicator in training, and I really appreciate your ability and creativity and passion. Thanks for being a reflection of our Lord Jesus here on planet earth! Let me know if you ever find yourself in a state of emergency and need someone to fill in. I'm pretty much free these days...

Later brother...I'll see you in South Carolina in June!

  • hey louie, I saw a dvd of you giving this talk in atlanta. It was quite amazing the things you talked about. I've told some friends about the things you talked about and they were amazed by just how big the universe is. There were a couple of pessimistic philosophy students who didn't like it. But they're typical philosophers, they focus on how bad a place the world is but I'd rather be living on this planet coz at least this planet can sustain life.
    Peace out louie
