Let's All Say It Together - London = Wow!

We're less than 24 hours away from a brilliant night here in the heart of west London and the whole thing is still powerfully reverberating in our hearts. The more we think back on it, the wider our smiles. Almost 3000 university-aged young people amplifying the name of Jesus over this city was -- wow. I know, wow is not really and adjective, but sometimes you just have to step back and say, "You know what, I am a bit overwhelmed in this moment and all I can really say to sum things up is WOW!" When words fail, and trust me, they will for anyone who has been on the first leg of this tour (the post-Passion dilemma), you just have to smile and say -- wow. The pics are stunningly beautiful, but they can't quite do it justice. My words are meager, and even if I could write all night it wouldn't really matter. To fully grasp the moment you really have to stand in the room when those first big words of the opening video say "HELLO LONDON" and feel the entire atmosphere in the room change in an instant as individuals are melded into a massive collective and thousands of single hearts start beating as one. The Kingdom of God becomes more than a theological idea, and supernaturally something even greater than crowd dynamics transforms a moment and galvanizes faith. You know right then that there is a risen Savior and that He is constructing a community of Believers around the globe and empowering them by His Spirit to light up the world. London was bright last night, and as the last image portrays, a wave of His sons and daughters are trickling back into the city and the nation (the nations) carrying fresh vision in changed hearts. I know I am. For those of you around the world who are linked to this adventure, please know that you walked with us every step of the way and will go with us to Manila in coming weeks as we begin again. I'm guessing many of you, like me, are somewhat attached to the journey and wondering what you will do when the images and blogs stop. Well, for one, we will try to NOT have an abrupt ending...thus the post tonight! But in the end, we each have to turn our eyes to the circumstances God has placed us in and be the change we hope to see in the world.

London, we love you so much and will hold this night in our hearts forever!
Louie

PS-London, you gave $18,320 to help us do this in Manila on August 1. Again, wow.

  • WOW! THANK YOU, LONDON!

The first leg of the World Tour has been an awesome glimpse of what it would be like when multitudes "from every nation, tribe, people and language" stand before the throne to proclaim Jesus is KING!

Can't wait for Passion Manila to kick off the second leg in 7 weeks' time! Ancient doors of religiosity are opening up to let the King of Glory in!

    Greater things for this city!
    Hallelujah to YOU, LORD!!

  • WOW!
So glad to be back with you guys! THANK GOD for all that HE has accomplished these past 3 weeks for HIS glory, and for all that HE has planned to continue what has begun. HIS KINGDOM COME...
This week has been a life changing, powerful week for me as well, one in which God has given me very clear direction for my life right now, but I do have to admit that at times it was still difficult to focus on the tasks at hand because my heart and prayers were with you so very much. But I finally understand and grasp what you said at the end Louie (thank you for saying it), that "in the end, we each have to turn our eyes to the circumstances God has placed us in and be the change we hope to see in the world." Its an uncomfortably thrilling place to be (and can be difficult at times when your heart is drawn somewhere else)- but when Jesus is there it is the best and only place to be! So as the Passion Team returns to your individual homes I pray that you would each be strentghened, protected, and filled with renewed vision from our God Whose vision is limitless! And please keep the updates coming to your Blog Family as you get a chance :). MUCH LOVE to you all!

  • Sadly, I missed out on about a week and a half's worth of updates, but I am so deeply inspired by reading and viewing what is on the blog today. I want to be in those places! It is unbelievable (almost) what God is doing to spread his gospel of life around the whole world. People are waking up and not just getting saved but realizing that life is about the Kingdom. This is huge!!! The trouble for me is that everyday life here in Florida can seem so much more mundane and absent of the supernatural than 25,000 students in Kampala surrendering to Christ and carrying his story beyond last weekend to change a nation. I'm longing for the supernatural move of God to invade our communities here at home too. Come Lord, shake us up! Thanks for all the posts, this is amazing! Love you guys!

  • Ephesians 1:7-10 = The mystery of God's will is to, through Christ, unite all things, both things in heaven and things on earth. For this reason believers must stand united in Christ!

Thank you for obeying God's calling on your life! I'm grateful for 268!

Love all of you faithful people of God.

Just going on this journey has made it easy even now to... "in the end, we each have to turn our eyes to the circumstances God has placed us in and be the change we hope to see in the world."

  • wow thank you London for your generosity and making this possible for Manila. im posting a portion of the prophecy for the Philippines delivered by Cindy Jacobs 4years ago about the universities in Manila, and know that your prayers and financial support have contributed to the fulfilling of destinies in Manila....

....Look to the university in Manila, says God. For I will bring a revival that the-Oh my Lord- The Lord says, not hundreds; thousands and thousands are going to get saved. The Lord says, can I touch a whole university? Yes, I can touch a whole university. I can come with my glory and I can come with my power in ways that you cannot imagine. For I am coming, says God. I am coming and I will remain, says the Lord.

    Godbless you all!

  • my favorite part of the day is stopping by here to see what God is doing now--and re-reading what He has done. Words can't communicate the encouragement I receive when I see what God is doing through you all. God is uniting our generation in a mighty way. I feel so connected to everyone coming to meet with you guys at these world gatherings. This is only explained by Jesus' spirit resonating in all of our hearts to bring us all together for amazing works to make His name great.

  • Passion London was such an amazing event! It is the first time I have been at such a massive event and I was just in awe of the thousands coming together to worship God. Praise God.

I was wondering whether the story that was told was available or published anywhere on the web. I was trying to tell one of my friends who has fallen away about the event. As asoon as I tried to tell him about the story he stopped me and said that they were all the same and he has heard it many times before. If I had the story to send him, I'm sure his mind would be changed. Can anyone help me?

  • Edward - you can download the story of Ashley as it was told at the Passion 07 regional events. Go to www.268store.com and click on 'messages'. Click on 'Passion::Regionals[USA] Speaking Series Downloads' and both of Louie's talks about Ashley can be found there.

Is there any chance of you putting Louie's talk, the story of Ashley and the Fruitcake onto the podcast, it was so amazing!

  • sorry - didnt read the comment above mine!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6/09/2008 12:43 PM

  • Wow.

That indeed is the only word I have for passion london last thursday. It was totally amazing to worship with so many students and you could totally see that it wasn't about the band or speaker but about God and what He spoke through you guys! I'm so thankful that you did a world tour. So many hearts have been set on fire and I'm sure so many more will be in the second leg. God is totally amazing isn't he? To be such an all powerful God, able to do ANYTHING and still take us back into His arms time after time.
Like David Crowder put it in one of his songs:
'The truest sign of grace was this; from wounded hands redemption fell down, liberating man'

    Wow

I pray for the second leg that it will be a great time at all the places you are going to, that Gods name will be glorified and that His grace will fall down in all those cities. I also pray that you guys can get some rest, take all in that happened and get refreshened :)

    Judith

PS and thanks for keeping us so up to date with the blog and podcast. It probably takes quite an effort to do it every time so, many many thanks for that!

  • Louie and the gang,
Thank you again for letting me share in the journey that God has set y'all on. The blog and podcast are truly a blessing to the rest of us who can't personally be there but can join in in prayer and spirit. I pray for all that He has begun and all that is yet to come in His cities. I also pray for much needed rest and recuperation for you and the crew and hope that you will find some quiet time to digest it all. Lastly, I pray for all of the preparation that is in place to stay there and for all of the other necessary pieces to fall into place for the second half of this amazing adventure...
