Bonsoir Paris!

The heart of Paris.

Waiting.

I heard the line went around the block.

We brought the sign from Kampala.

Guess where they came from.

1400 we pray will turn into a multitude.

Former French Open champion Mary Pierce talks about Jesus.

I saw the light.

Passion Paris.

Once again, the thought we are carrying from a fabulous night in Paris is hope. In the end, just near 1,000 people were with us for a beautiful night. Granted, students are right in the midst of exams, but as we had been told all along, an event of this size would be the largest university gathering for Christ in this city. I can't tell you how grateful we feel to carry the story of rescue in Paris tonight. The church is alive here, and we pray what happened tonight fans the flame of passion for His name. Kampala, we played the video of you chanting "Pair-ees" and brought your sign all the way from Uganda. The students were blown away by that and started cheering like crazy.

There were so many highlights, but having MP with us was truly special. She's one of two French women to have won Roland Garros in the past forty years and is a national hero here. We met her through friends a few months ago and when she found out from Chris about Passion Paris she really wanted to come (she's injured, but here doing TV for the tournament). She never thought she'd share, but wow! Not only did the place go absolutely nuts when she came out, but her contagious love for Jesus just caused the whole night to erupt.

At the end I met a friend of the Blog and podcast (you'll hear her on it later) who is an Italian university student in Milan. Like most people there tonight, it was her first Passion, and the first time she has ever been able to worship with a room filled with students like her. Thank you, Paris, for making that happen!

Thanks to all of you who prayed for and with us. Now it's time for some of the Passion family (you guys reading this) to move into the neighborhoods of Paris and plant your lives for the cause of making the light of Jesus bright here. This city needs all the love and support we can give.

Paris, we love you and believe this little tribe we saw tonight will multiply into a mighty wave throughout this city and nation. With much love, Louie and the whole Passion Team.

"The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord, in its time I will do this swiftly." Isaiah 60:22

PS! Kampala, you gave $3842 US [6,147,200 Ugandan Shillings!!!] for Paris. Paris gave $4900 US for London and is praying! DSN in Paris = 230 Pairs of socks and 320 toothbrushes for the homeless of the City.

  • Huh? I want to hear more! :) And yet those words and pictures were enough because the Spirit does its work in us; praying and seeking things we cannot see...things hoped for. I got chills and tears driving home today thinking about what God did through y'all in Uganda and what He was doing in Paris. All over the world...He is good.

  • thanks - amazing pictures!
I will be praying for the flames to spread in Paris!!
praying for you all : )

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

It is not always simple to be a Christian in France but being there with so many other people who love Jesus was so amazing for me, for all of us. Thank you Jesus!! :) delphine.

  • CLASS! Looks amazing! I can't believe God brought so many together in Paris to passion! Theres something strange in that alone! Truley amazing stuff!
London tomoro, its just flown in, so many have been waiting for this movement to hit the UK Louie! There is so much apathy and lookwarmness in christian circles in the UK, not to mention the opposition from non christian that has been growing over the past number of years.

  • While I was coming home from college by bus yesterday at night I was thanking God for what He had done earlier in Paris - even though I didn't yet know the results, but, hey, how could it not have been great? :-)

And then when I got home I checked the blog, but I was too tired to write any comments, just thankful everything had really went well.

But THEN, this morning I'm back here to comment and the post seems to have been updated with so many details that it totally multiplied my joy for Paris!! Wow, I think none of us can truly grasp the outcome of all this... I mean, we know it's gonna be huge, it is already huge... all for His renown... it's all just awesome... because our God is awesome beyond description!

Students from Paris, we'll continue to support you in prayer! May you all experience even greater things in your city!

Praying for the Tour, London, the Passion Team (including, of course, the great production crew), the volunteers... looking forward to know what God's gonna do in London as well.

Thank you for the extra update, Louie!

I love reading this blog and all the comments (it takes some time, but I can't help it)!

  • Dear Pr Louie,

I am Bruna Folster from Brazil. And I was in the conference in Sao Paulo.
It was so special and amazing. I praise Lord for your life and for your vision with the young people.

I have some very special to divide with you.

September of 2004 – It was my baptism and God gave me a huge vision and one part He started show me the World and all the countries and all the country that He touched started to be gold… When I realized many many courtiers were gold then I realize that I was in a place and a special “Rock Roll Gospel” band was in concert. And God told me that: He is stand/ (put together – I don’t know how to say in English but I hope you understand) all His army all over the World. And He said that His army has a pure relationship with him and also theirs heart are pure and He is preparing us to speak abou His Love and Speak How great is our Lord =)

Well it was 4 years ago… But at that Saturday morning when David Crowder was singing the vision came true – I cried a lot and I was so thankful to our Lord because He is doing He is putting together His army all over the World!

Congratulation of your ministry! I bought two DVD from you and Now I am passion for the Passion!

God bless you, your family and your ministry!

Been praying and crying for God to let me know he was there and that my wife Debbie was there with Him since Deb died from ovarian cancer in 2007. As you told Ashley's story, you said that Ashley died on May 3. That is the day that Debbie died as well. She was 53. I believe that this is one way that God is letting me know He is there and that Debbie is there with Him and Ashley. Thank you for the message and the story of Ashley. • Woow! Thank you for this beautiful night. It was really worth it to travel all the way from Amsterdam to Paris to feel the strength of God when young people all the way from Europe come together in His name.

At my way back to my hotel I saw so much homeless people in the metro and a lot of drunk youth and it just make me realize there is so much to do for us as Christians!

Thank you for this inspiring night! But even more... Thank You God for being with us where ever we will go. May your church be rising everywhere in France and over the whole wide world.

May we praise You, for ever and ever! Hallelujah!

Ps. Like the Holland picture a lot! Thanks Jeremy!

Guys, you are walking in the good works He has prepared for you: thats what this whole tour is about:
    just keep on walking!

Louie:i pray for a specific message for London, the fathers heart in you= the heart for the nations, intimacy in His presence

bands: for unity, refreshment, no comparison with one another but appreciation for one another> acknowledge the measure of grace given to each one of you, His joy will be your strength

Volunteers:blessing, energy and enjoyment to do your work

london:that the evening will not just be a party but an invitaton into your presence so that they will become an invitation themselves/ letter to this world!

It was good to be in Paris though the spiritual realm was quite heavy: i believe this town should be turn into a city of Praise!

Through our praises God will make a way so that we see His salvation psalm 50: 23

Thank you Passion Team, and thank you Jesus for all You have done!

I've just landed "home" in the States, so I'm with you on the jet lag, and in my prayers.

  • It was a amazing night! Being a missionary in western europe I was just floored to see the line wrapped around the corner. That simply never ever ever happens in Europe for anything having to do with God. I truly don't even know if the Passion team really realizes what a amazing night that was and I think Paris was hungry for a even such as this.

Also, sorry Louie about screaming Belgium about 8 times over that night we just wanted to make sure we represented our wonderful nation.

  • That night was so amazing! It was my first Passion event. I had a wonderful time worshiping God, and, I know He's happy up there.
Will Passion come back in France? If yes, why not in Lyon? There's a lot of students there too (I come from Lyon, that's why I say this).

Long live Passion, and blessed be the Lord!

Que Dieu vous bénisse Passion team!

  • hey louie- my name is stephen and i from murfreesboro, TN (right outside Nashville) and i was wanting to encourage you and your staff but letting you know our youth ministry in Murfreesboro is praying specifically for you and your staff while you are away for your safety and that God would be glorified in everything you do. I felt led to say that and hope you find encouragment in that. Have a great day and know there are 100 kids and over 15 adults who might have never been to a passion event but we are lifting you up this week in our service by name and then during the week through our prayer guide. thanks for all you do for the college students of the word. Hide behind the cross and let God do the rest. Thanks and God Bless-stephen

  • so glad to hear how God is moving in Paris! there has to be a "spark" before the flame can be well lit, so those 1,000 students are the "spark" of God's light, and soon the flame will engulf the city of Paris! God is so amazing! :D

  • I am SO encouraged by what happened in Paris! We're talking about a city and a country which are known for atheism and lukewarm spirituality... I am excited and SO very happy with what God is doing in the world through Passion! I went to the Passion of Sao Paulo... and will continue praying for you guys!

  • I am very happy to know that the Passion in Paris was good ... I have a very great love for France. And I am sad when I say that France is becoming atheists ... I am very happy to know that church is alive.
France would fill the Holy Spirit, we pray for all the barriers of evil on France is bursting. We pray for the cold hearts of the French end, if they realize that God is essential in our lives!

I believe that we will see a great avivamento in France!

    Je t'aime Jesus

  • I'm extremely interested in the movement of God in Paris. Is there any way to get some more information about some of the people that you all connected with who are serving in Paris or even some prayer points to be praying for the city? Thank you for casting vision for the people of God to live like we believe the glory of God matters most!
