The Wave Is Growing!

I could literally write for a week and not fully capture the scope of what happened here in Kampala today. But sadly, we are all both blown away and exhausted after being at the field all day and night, so this picture will have to tell the story for us tonight. Not to be outdone by their "new" Brazilian friends (we opened last night with a video clip of Passion Sao Paulo's ending last Saturday and the students chanting "Kampala, Kampala!"), tonight this poster appeared in the middle of a crowd of somewhere near 20,000 people when we talked about out next stop Tuesday night in France! We were floored!! It was a powerful ending to a weekend that has left us speechless. The students here have sunk their hearts into Isaiah 26:8, and now join the growing wave of students all over the world who want to live for His renown. Hearing them chat "Pair-ees, Pair-ees" in their beautiful Ugandan accent, and watching them give what some believe is the first ever offering by African students for people in a place like Paris, was crazy...and just like the Kingdom of God in that it turned everything upside down.

God was with us as we worshipped (more on this to come) and I shared the Indescribable message under the night sky (the damaged LED wall worked for the first time right before we started tonight's last session!!). One word. WOW! I'm afraid we're going to crash for now, pray for supernatural restoration, sleep with smiling Ugandan faces in our heads, thank the God who is the author of unstoppable grace and hopefully post more photos tomorrow! Much love from lovely Kampala! Louie and all the Passion Team.

  • at my work we always have group prayer to close out the week, and i believe at that same time the first night at kampala was underway... so we joined our hearts and prayed for HUGE favor to be poured out on the students and all the passion staff and volunteers... and looks like God moved in a way no one could ever imagine! michigan is with you!!

on friday my DC wristband fell off. on the inside was kampala... how fitting that it was the same day as the gathering. although the wristband and constant reminder of kampala are gone, the students will never be out my mind and prayers. (i hope my atlanta wristband can hang on 'til october!)

AMAZING pictures by the way!! is there any way to get them larger?

  • Great Job!

Hoping you guys are selling enough CDs and DVDs to the 20,000 University students to pay for your trips if you didn't get all the $6 million in donations you wanted so you didn't have to use your company's own money for everything.

Praise God for strong sales and good donations for strong money is needed for success travels

  • I am extremely excited by what is happening through this ministry! I spent the summer of 2005 in Africa serving the orphans, and as I left the continent, part of my heart stayed behind. I long to go back to their lives again. Seeing these pictures just warmed my soul. Thank you for sharing this experience with us!

I will be praying as you go to Paris. I thought maybe I would be able to share a little of the time with you as I am going to Paris June 9-19, but was saddened when I saw Passion would be there the weekend before I arrived. Get some rest and enjoy yourselves.

    Thanks again!

  • GREATER THINGS ARE STILL TO BE DONE IN THIS CITY AND THE WORLD.
I WANT TO THANK THE PASSION TEAM FOR EVERYTHING THEY DID FOR US HERE IN KAMPALA. I WAS BLESSED BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS. IT WAS OUR FIRST TIME TO HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL EVENT ORGANISED FOR CHRISTIANS IN UGANDA.
IN MY WORDS I CAN'T EXPLAIN IT ALL AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO THANK YOU. YOU LABOURED SO MUCH FOR US HERE, YOU INVESTED IN US YOUR TIME, FUNDS, TALENTS, LOVE AND CARE. YOU BROUGHT THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST TO THE POOR OF UGANDA. OUR HEART WERE THIRSTY FOR JESUS AND HE USED YOU TO WATER US UP. IN ALL THE CITIES OF THE WORLD YOU CHOSE KAMPALA. PEOPLE MAY BE WERE SAYING, WHAT GOOD CAN COME OUT OF KAMPALA BUT WE HAVE GOT THE BEST GOOD AND THAT IS "JESUS".
THE OFFERING WE GAVE I KNOW CANNOT BE COMPARED WITH WHAT YOU DID FOR US. MY HEART WAS CRYING OUT WHEN I WAS GIVING THE OFFERING BECAUSE I KNEW THAT WE CAN'T PAY YOU BACK BUT THE MIGHTY LORD WILL.

NOW I WANT TO TELL THE STUDENTS OF PARIS THAT THE BALL IS IN YOUR HANDS. LIVE FOR CHRIST AND LET HIM BE FAMOUS THROUGHT PARIS AND FRANCE. WE ARE BEHIND YOU BROTHERS AND SISTERS. LOUIE TELL THE STUDENTS OF PARIS FOR ME THAT WE LOVE THEM, PRAY FOR THEM, CARE FOR THEM, THEY ARE IN OUR HEARTS AND LET THE FIRE OF THE LORD BE IGNITED IN THEIR LIVES AS IT WAS IN UGANDA. THEY ARE THE ONES TO MAKE JESUS FAMOUS IN FRANCE AND THEY HAVE THE POTENTIAL GOD HAS GIVEN THEM. LET THEM SAY "YES LORD" TO JESUS. PARIS IS FOR JESUS IN CHRIST'S NAME.

  • Wow, thank you for sharing this with us, even though you were very tired!

I was looking forward to hearing some more news from Kampala and this is awesome. I'm leaving to church service in a few minutes, but I had to check if there were any news from Kampala.

It's so good to know that we're part of this in some level, it's a great privilege!

Thanks for sharing this privilege with us, Louie and all the team.

I'm praying for your restoration, for Kampala and now also for Paris. Let the wave keep growing, for His renown!!

BTW, I don't know if this is the 1st time, but it certainly is amazing and totally crazy that Kampala studentes give an offering to Paris students.... it's just mind blowing and it shows the beauty of the Kingdom of God and how great He is.

OK, I gotta leave now or I'll be late for service.

    Thank you all again!

    God bless!!!!
