You're Getting Very Warm!

Only eight days to Passion 06 iTunes and you're getting very warm! We can tell you that many of you astute observers have correctly identified one of the iTunes "Passion 06 Early Session" tracks from the Crowders. The other track, however, an exclusive from our days in Nashville (it will be in the iTunes bundle, but not on the CD), has not been mentioned in any Blog post to date. Hummmm. We will have full disclosure on iTunes bundle #1 at the end of the week. Meanwhile, we've noticed the Passion 05 iTunes bundle on the charts, so we're guessing some of you have grabbed this great bundle while you're waiting. Thanks! We'll have more iTunes/Passion 06 CD/DVD info for you in a few days.

We are also really excited about the offficial release of Charlie Hall's new sixstepsrecords project, "Flying Into Daybreak." While the CD was on sale at Passion 06 (we sold out fast!), the CD will officially be available everywhere on 1/24. All I can tell you is the CD is amazing, filled with songs that give voice to people seeking hope in the struggle of life. There are too many great songs to mention here, but you can get a taste of one of my favs, "Bravery," currently playing on the 268Generation.com home page. "Flying Into Daybreak" will be available online (you can preorder now at 268store.com), at iTunes and Mardel Bookstores. And, rumor has it Charlie will be playing in Atlanta on release night...Tuesday, January 24.

  • Hey don't forget about those of us who were sitting above the halfway line.... we still have 9 days til we can download the bundle. Very Excited though!! Can't wait to see what's on it.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2006 2:58 PM

  • well, bwapod, if "We're working on two songs and a talk for the first Passion 06 bundle (translation: buy all)" is any indication...I'd say they're doing 2 or more! =) I would be so happy to be able to buy all the main sessions from itunes, considering I didn't get to attend this year.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2006 3:07 PM

  • Yay! I was not at Passion (too old) and I am dying to know what all the fuss is about!! Cannot wait to hear it! Praying God will open the doors for me to volunteer in Atlanta next year!

I just purchased "Hymns Ancient and Modern" and I love it. It is so great to see that hymns are still an important part of worship, not to be swept aside by new music. There is a reason many of those hymns are still loved by people today--they are about truth and they glorify God! Is there a song book with these arrangements available? I'd like to do some of them in church.

Can't wait for the 24th! Let's overload Itunes!!!! Yeah!

  • Looking forward to seeing Charlie at 722 on the 24th as the new CD is AMAZING. I was lucky enough to get one of the copies at 06 and have not taken it out of my car yet! That and iTunes on the same day... other than 4 classes this is going to be an unbelievebly great day!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2006 5:26 PM

  • I was hoping for "You and I" to be in the bundle, but no longer, as I definately want it to be on the cd:)

  • Ok guys and gals, after Louie's hints, here's my stab at guessing the other song that's going to be available on itunes next tuesday. Since Chris and Matt got shown the love last year, and we already know David is this year (with "You Are My Joy" most likely)then I'm guessing that Charlie and one of his new songs will be the other one. Following the recipe from last year's bundle and Tomlin's "Holy is the Lord" (a song that had already made it onto a live recording and didn't go on the Passion05 CD)I'm gonna go with Charlie's "Marvelous Light" as the other itunes song. That would be fine with me so that a couple of his brand new songs can be on the CD. Anyway, let me know what ya'll think!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2006 5:57 PM

  • But Charlie's "Marvelous Light" is already on the P05 CD. It doesn't need a new release! (Although, it shuffled onto my ipod twice on Saturday; at the beginning and end of my 3-mile run -- God was taking over the shuffle mechanism, I'm sure:)

  • Hi everyone...I've never done this before, but decided to give it a try. I was at Passion06 and it was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced in my life.

Silke...I saw on your profile that you are a surgical resident. I am a freshman at Georgia Tech this year and am a bio. major and am premed. I was just wondering how you enjoy surgery. When everyone asks me what kind of medicine I want to go into, I always say anything but surgery! I thought it would be interesting to get an opinion of someone who is an actual surgical resident. Also, where did you go to med. school? I love talking to people who have gone through what I am working towards, and it's even better when they are a Christian! Thanks so much!

  • Silke,

I forgot to mention that my name is Ashley. I posted anonymously because I didn't want to create a blog website. And for the record, I agree that it probably won't be Marvelous Light since that was on the Passion05 record. I really don't have a clue as to what it could be though!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2006 6:53 PM

  • yeah!! the itunes bundle is so exciting because today for the first time EVER i used my ipod (i know, a little late on the technology). and while i was running! and let me tell you, worshiping while running is a completely PHENOMENAL (sp>?) experience. like a real life, tangible way to run after the Lord. AMAZING. and i can't wait to add more incredible songs to the mix!

By Blogger Kelly, at 1/16/2006 7:44 PM

  • this evening is the first day i've checked the blog since coming back. reading through the blog, passion exploded again in me as i imagined myself back with 18,000 brothers and sisters. it's been harder than i ever thought to get back to the daily routine - probably because Passion was increadibly more powerful than i expected. the best i can respond to the "so how was Passion" question is "indescribable" and "a taste of Heaven"

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2006 7:59 PM

  • i am hoping that "Jesus Paid it all" will be on the c.d. or itunes release! That's my vote.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/16/2006 11:34 PM

  • I hope that the song (Party)Is going to be on the cd--and (You and I)Can't wait to find out!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/17/2006 9:11 AM

  • I got Charlie's C-d at Passion and was reveling in grace through it this morning. Sweet Awesome stuff

By Blogger Gloamer, at 1/17/2006 9:18 AM

  • Why can't Marvelous Light be it? If they released Holy Is The Lord last year and it was already on Sacred Revolution, then why not a newer version of Marvelous Light? It's gone through some changes just as well. I'm guessing it's Center because I can't really picture it on the CD for some reason

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/17/2006 10:58 AM

  • exciting! can't wait til the 24th for charlie's release!

By Blogger steph, at 1/17/2006 3:37 PM

  • My money is on either "marvelous light" or one of the older ones that tomlin did. Like "Indescribable" or "How Great is Our God" (the piano versions) or "Did you feel...." or "Unchanging" or "Kindess". I think "Center" will definitely be on the CD. It should be a great bundle. What an amazing three days in Nashville!!!

  • Hey Mr. Giglio!
Can't wait to have the P.06 iTunes avalible! I'm getting a Nano, so can't wait to have that downloaded.
Thanks for the update on C.H. new cd. I'm so glad that Passion 06 was such a success. Thank you so much for taking the time to post... it means a lot for us to be in touch with you guys some-what. I know it does take time out of your busy schedule to do so, and i want you to know that it is greatly appreciated. :)

  • Hey christinah in atl...

I saw it at Cornerstone Christian Store in Snellville (Gwinnett County). Not sure if there are other Cornerstones in the metro area or not, but I'd be happy to pick one up for you and mail it to you.

    Email me at lfrawley@aol.com

  • Hi Ashley...

I live about 10 minutes from the Cornerstone store we're talking about, in the Grayson/Snellville area. My family and I worship at Grace Fellowship, just down RR Pkwy a bit from the store.

I've been living the Passion experience vicariously through this blog, wishing that there had been something similar when I was a college student. But God has chosen THIS generation to glorify him in a way that my own generation was too self-absorbed to do! Perhaps I will volunteer when Passion 07 comes to Atlanta.

The body of Christ is a cozy world indeed! Nice to meet you, my Snellville sister. :)

    By Blogger zephaniah3:17, at 1/17/2006 5:26 PM

  • zephaniah3:17,

I live near Summit Chase and I go to Snellville United Methodist Church and love it there. But I know of people who go to Grace; do you know Brittany Jones? She is one of my close friends and she is very active at Grace. Plus, she is incredibly friendly and talkative, so if you are around her, you probably know her! I am planning on going to Passion07 in Atlanta, maybe if you volunteer, I will see you there! Or maybe I will meet you before then! :) It's great to meet someone from my area on here!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/17/2006 6:24 PM

  • Ashley,

Surgery is AWESOME!!! There's nothing else I'd rather do as a job; well, other than maybe one day being a stay-at-home-most-of-the-time-mom:) But that's not God's plan for me, not yet! Or praising God all day long (but I tend to do that anyway)! I really should share my whole story with you, for perspective, but I don't want to bore the whole blog with it. You can e-mail me anytime at silke_smooth@hotmail.com (this is a silly relic from college, but it works:). I went to Alabama for undergrad, and UAB for med school. Med school was probably the best days of my life (other than Passion06). I met some of the most amazing people, and all my best friends! One of whom gave us tapes of Louie to listen to (because she likes him), but we thought she was trying to give us different hints:) In any case, we started following the passion movement then, and I'm the first to go back as a volunteer (despite the rumors that say surgical residency is the busiest, no free time, etc - guess that proves them wrong, because all my friends were working while I was at passion!). Seriously, though, e-mail me, and we'll talk!

    Kelly,

I agree on ipod worship while running; except Charlie had me spinning the other day (I quote: "Lift your hands and spin around...") -- one of the best times I've ever had running. I hope I won't try it on my treadmill any time soon, though:)

  • Okay. I am going with a Matt Redman song. I don't know which one, but a Redman song is my pick because he's the guy in the shadows who doesn't get any whoopla and craze over, so his humbleness is going to pay off!!! That's a joke, not a spiritual equation.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1/17/2006 9:03 PM

  • pre-med ashley,

stay on the course! there were two of us med students at p'06 from morehouse sch of med (i'm an oldie so i volunteered) - we're 4th years, i'm going into family med and my friend is going into surgery (she went to tech too).

so everybody who thinks docs are too science-minded to be lovers of Jesus, we're here!

    silke,

hope you had a great time volunteering! i'm already going to ask for jan 1-4 off as soon as i sign my contract wherever God puts me. hope to see you in atl next year!

  • lizvic,

thanks for the encouragement! its so great to hear of other people who are in the medical field on this blog! i would love to talk to you more about this and hear your story of how you decided on medicine...i can always use advice and words of wisdom!...if you could email me, that would be great! my email is gth790x@mail.gatech.edu

if you go to morehouse, you must live in atlanta, right? isnt that in atlanta? if so, then we are practically neighbors! its also nice to hear of other people who went to med. school from tech...everyone assumes that you have to go into engineering since that is the school's strength...again, thanks for responding to my post...its such an encouragement! i hope to hear from you soon!

  • Liz,

so glad to see med students coming behind us! Hope to see/meet you all in ATL 07! "Good luck" with the Match coming up!!! If doubtful of where God will lead, my friends and I had this song by Brent Vernon "If You're not in it..." for that time of school. Enjoy!

  • I love Charlie's new Cd.. so may of the songs are so SIMPLE, either in music or lyrics, but they echo exactly the cry of my heart... for example..
    Jesus be the center :-)

By Blogger Justine, at 1/18/2006 12:14 PM

  • I hope Jesus Paid It All is on the cd/itunes also. Also, does anyone know if Christian has any cds out? I'd like to get one if he does.

  • Wow Christinah, Lifeway Christian store didn't have CCM? I can just bet they sold out of them. I hope you are able to get one at the Cornerstone store. I finally got a chance to read mine last week and the article on Passion is incredible. I won't say anything so as to not spoil it for you. I actually tried picking it up and reading it during one of my breaks at Passion, then got a call from a friend of mine, then after that, I had to get up and going again. By the way, I checked out the website for Kristian's CD. I am sure the Hillsong cd is great too. I love Darlene Zschech's music. They have a special coming on Sky Angel that shows the making of their new "God He Reigns" cd and hopefully I will get the chance to watch it. If not, then I can always tape it and watch it later.

Well, I most strongly suggest to get the new Charlie Hall cd. I got mine at Passion and when it isn't in my cd player in my car, it is in the one I have at my desk at work. Yeah, Silke, we just love that "Marvelous Light". Remember our little dance to that at Passion? I also have to say that I like "Song of the Redeemed" just as much. When they broke out into the "we are yours" part of the song at Passion, it was just so......powerful!!! Charlie did that song again at the late nite and I even got a chance to sit in and watch him then. All's I had to do that night was take up the tickets and just keep my eye on the door, so I would just occasionally look back over my shoulder.

    Woohoo.....6 more days people!!!!

By Blogger Donna, at 1/18/2006 8:15 PM

  • What about that song "Glorious"? I don't remember who sang it or if that's even the correct song name, but I thought maybe, since that was written on the banner.

What software is that? That would be very helpful to me in my studying. Thanks

There are a lot of software options (Accordance Bible Software for Macs), but they cost $$$. A great free option is http://www.biblegateway.com/.

You can serach words, passages...whatever. Tons of versions. Works great.

  • Since I've been back to school this week, I've found the Passion conference to be a great conversation starter and way to reference my faith. When people ask, "So, what did you do over Christmas break?", I can tell them I went to this sweet Christian conference in Nashville with 18,000 other college students! It's a neat way to say I'm a Christian and have people ask about it. Thanks guys!

I'm crying and laughing tears!!! At midnight! I can't believe you actually did that!!! DM!!!

  • HEHEHEHEH

    M,

I am busting at the seams here. You are too crazy. Down a couple for me too. This cough has been so dry though.

Geez, Silke, you got to wear your Passion gear to work. I wish I could wear my tshirt to work. We do get to wear jeans on Fridays, but no tshirts with words on them. Yet they are allowing people to wear Panthers gear today. You know, since I don't care for football (sorry, don't you guys throw stuff at me here on the blog) and I don't have any football attire, I should be able to wear my volunteer shirt in it's place. Actually, I do have a Panthers hat with autographs on it. I took my son to one of the autograph signings when I first moved here and he left the hat behind. Probably not worth anything. They have even changed coaches since then.
