iTunes Finally Good To Go

Thankfully, it appears that Everything Glorious is now working fully at iTunes. "Awesome is the Lord Most High" is now available without glitches. Finally! We're not exactly sure how the refund/resend process will work, but have been assured that a clean version will be resent to everyone who has purchased the CD. Hopefully, now that the clean track is online we will hear an update from them about this process soon.

On that note, we met the key iTunes people at a Dove afterparty last week. It was great to actually see the people who run the Inspo page and iTunes as a whole. They were equally excited to put faces with the Passion Movement, and to find out who the guy is who is doing all the talking on the bundles.

So, if you've wondered, you have made an impact on their team in Apple-land....they know about Passion and wanted to hear more about who you are.

For those of you who have waited to download Everything Glorious or gift it to a friend, happy listening/giving. And thank you so much for your patience and influence.

  • Must be nice to have the pull of a major label with the iTunes folks. They posted one of my songs with 2 minutes of pops and hiss at the end of it 6 months ago, and all the reports in the world haven't solved the problem... haha.

Question to all the Passion06 goers: Does anyone remember when this recording of How Marvelous took place? The only time I remember we sang it was the first morning, when Chris led. It was right after John Piper's message. I remembered him leading from the piano, and tagging the "Oh praise the one who paid my debt" bit from Jesus Paid it All on the end. I totally can't remember when he let it from the guitar... and would love for someone to remind my poor failing brain, haha!

    Anyone?!

  • I just got the CD last night... and I was in tears as I listened to Glorious. Passion 06 was such a blessing... I am counting the days til 07..
And I was so glad to hear about the blessings @ the GMA's and Dove's... even more glad to hear about the humble acceptance! (I expected no less from my sixstep folks..)
I am proud to be part of the 268 generation... thanks for all you do Louie and Shelley.. You truly are the best of the best.
    Love ya'll!

  • Brandi... you are so right about "Glorious." Beautiful song. Chris and Christy really ushered in something beautiful for the Church to sing to our God with that one.

  • I reported to iTunes the problem with Awesome Is The Lord Most High, and they issued me a song credit, which can be used for any song. So all I have to do is go to the Music Store and repurchase the song (now that it's fixed).

    Hope this helps.

  • Coinstar (the folks that turn coins into cash) added iTMS as an e-giftcard option. This way you don't pay any fees for getting your change turned into paper money. It's pretty sweet. Check it out, take some change from under your car seat and buy the new album.

  • does anyone know how to recreate the silent version of "here i am to worship" that we "sang" during the silent worship wednesday night? i'm wanting to use that technology in a Deaf ministry chapel.
if you have any info about it, please let me know!
    thanks!

  • Sarah C,
There's a couple of options. I'll throw them out here in case anyone else has a similar question. If you are using a Mac, the easiest way to do it would be to use a program called PROPRESENTER (www.propresenter.com). This is what was used for all the song lyrics at Passion, and has all the necessary effects and fonts to make it look exactly like it was that night... even the TYPING!

If you don't have a Mac, or don't want to use ProPresenter, there is always PowerPoint. It's a little more complicated, in that you have to animate every piece of text, but it's still doable. It just would take about 1/10 of the time if you did it in ProPresenter.

The third option would be to use some video editing software (Mac: iMovie, FinalCutExpress, etc... Win: Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere, etc...) to create a video that has all the typing and fades that you would want. The nice thing here is you could time it all out in advance and wouldn't need anyone to run it, as to where with ProPresenter and PowerPoint, you would.

At any rate, if anyone has any further questions, especially about ProPresenter, please feel free to contact me, I'd love to help!

  • so glad iTunes is finally with us! thanks for getting things straightened out.

the cd has not stoped playing in my car. :)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4/11/2006 6:10 PM

  • Ok, my mom met me for lunch yesterday and when she pulled up she had the PARTY song going FULL BLAST.....

Folks...My mom has kidnapped my CD. She rocks out to it in her car! How incredible is that?!

Now she is going nuts because she learned there is a DVD on the way.

I don't fret, I have a spare CD, plus I have a back up on my iPOD. I know to buy these Passion CD's in bulk because after I share them with the family my CD is no longer my own.

It's thrilling to know the Passion Movement has affected our parents generation!

It speaks volumes to have my parents gung ho for the Glory of God and to embrace the move of God's Spirit over my generation.

  • To Louie & all the team,
From all the way down here in Australia, I had been looking forward to the release of "EG" since Passion'06 ended and I got my copy of the conference sessions in the mail at the beginning of March. Was surprised that "EG" made it to stores down here around the same time as the US release.

But that's beside the point. The band and all at Passion/sixsteps have outdone themselves with this year's release. There has been constant renewal of my spirit whenever I have listened to any of the Passion CD's I've bought (bar the '97 one).

Hearing Kristian's version of "Jesus Paid It All" seems rather appropriate given the time of the liturgical year we're in atm and has truly reminded me of God's grace in my life. DCB's tracks as always are inspiring but the big surprise (and a good one too!) has been Charlie's tracks in this year's release. Normally I find myself loving his tracks lyrically but there's always been something about the music that's got me confused. This year though, it is just right. I have found myself resounding with "Center" everytime I hear it.

Looking forward to making it to Passion in '08 in person but until then, I'm glad to be part of the 268 Generation even though I'm half way across the world.

God's blessings be with you, Shelley and all the Passion team. In Christ's ineffable and extraordinary love, BF.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4/12/2006 6:07 PM

  • All I know is that I am so thankful that God will never let go of me and I can sing of His love forever!!!!!!heaven will be so awesome!!!!

Thanks be to our Great God!!!!!

I have had a really trying week this week and Matt Redmans's song "You Never Let Go ' has been so timely and has ministered to me.

Those words are such a positive declaration. I love them.

I also want to stand up and shout when I hear " Our God Reigns "

    What an awesome truth!!!

  • *Hello Passion Team*
I'm enjoying the new passion cd... especially resonate with Matt's 'You Never Let Go', Chris' 'Glorious', Charlie's 'Center', and Crowder's 'Everything Glorious'.
Thanks so much for all the great work by everyone involved (from the people we know about, to those we don't) on these offerings of worship. Can't wait for these songs to start making it into the church!
    Blessings to you~

  • still waiting for my iTunes Music Store credit........

hopefully soon as i want the new version NOW.

  • We definetly do win! He is our great big God!

To all who had a part in the cd: I say thank you! You did a great job. I love how Live it really sounds. I feel like I'm there. Hearing All I Need by Charlie Hall and the hymns and all the other songs are awesome.
Sometimes I set the cd player to random and it'll play all the hymns at one time. You did a great job on the order you put them in. The cd is awesome. I am amazed and feel right in God's presence. Thanks everyone!

Cole- you can play the Everything Glorious on the computer. You may have to have media player or some other player on your computer, but it should work. When I do it, I just put the cd in the computer, and media player comes up on one computer and some other player works on our other computer. So it should work. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure. Maybe someone else would have an idea.

    We're going PARTY!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4/13/2006 7:49 AM

  • This Easter, let's show the world what's really worth celebrating. Not a bunny who hides eggs, but a Savior who died, and is now alive again! He is "Glorious" and "Our God Reigns" Through Christ's victory, "We Win" so we can "Party" in the goodness of His grace! Once we belong to Him, He will "Never Let Go" and will make "Everything Glorious" How great for the cd to give us just a few words to be able to express our gratitude to God for His sacrifice this Easter!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4/13/2006 8:56 AM

  • how live it really sounds? this sounds nothing like a live record. the only live vocal is crowder talking to the crowd during 'we win'. everything else was recorded elsewhere and edited in. Passion has not done a live record since '99.

  • Louie: I was so pleased to see the press release this morning (in part):

sixstepsrecords’ ninth Passion project, Passion: Everything Glorious, released April 4 to wide critical acclaim and became an immediate best seller. Recording the highest street week sales ever for a Passion recording, the album claimed the No. 1 position on the SoundScan Christian Retail sales chart. The album also landed at No. 69 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and became the second highest full album debut in the history of EMI CMG digital releases . . . Appearing on the album are four exclusive songs that will only be heard on Passion: Everything Glorious. Exclusive songs include “Glorious” and “Party” from Chris Tomlin, “Everything Glorious” from David Crowder Band, and Matt Redman’s “You Never Let Go.”

I am blessed and honored to be a small part of the support for this movement.

I just want to express my hope that the "exclusivity" issue with regard to Chris and Jesse's song Glorious is revisited at some point -- it has been a special song to me from the night Chris taught it to us at the Stone . . . I sincerely hope this simple yet lyrically powerful and melodically perfect song can be included on Chris' next studio release. I think it's one of the most special songs they've ever written.

    Thanks for all you do.

  • itunes just emailed me and told me that i could redownload the first song off everything glorious

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4/13/2006 3:50 PM

  • dear anonymous above....

hate to be picky, but you don't know what you're talking about when you say:

"...everything else was recorded elsewhere and edited in..."

sounds so authoritative, but, for the record, not close to being true on EG. lot's of original vocals here. surprise!

  • Just got this in an email from the GMA:

Also beginning later this month those who watch the 37th Annual GMA Music Awards will have the opportunity to download two of the performed songs through iTunes. Starting April 25, iTunes will host an entire room to showcase this year's performers and Dove Award recipients. The two songs that will be available for download include the special acoustic performance done in honor of Steven Curtis Chapman receiving his 50th Dove Award, which featured Casting Crowns' Mark Hall, Third Day's Mac Powell, Jeremy Camp and David Crowder Band's David Crowder. The other single available for download is Artist and Male Vocalist of the Year recipient Chris Tomlin performing "How Great is Our God/How Great Thou Art," which ended the show. During these performances a message will be shown on screen directing viewers about the tracks' availability on iTunes.

    how cool is that?!

  • Marcus... great point, and great suggestion. "Anonymous," if you're interested, let us know how we can reach you. We can have a great discussions offline about the finer points of recording, without bringing this blog space in to the mix.

In the meantime... let's continue to enjoy EG... remembering all that God did in our lives that week, and celebrating all that God is doing in our lives today!

  • Itunes refunded me the full purchase price of the CD and sent clean versions of the 2 songs that skipped. What a blessing!

I did file a "trouble report" with them though. I don't know if they are automatically doing it for anyone who bought the CD of not.

  • Hey, pray for a fellow Passion attendee. I'm going to Peru this summer to do a film about a tribal group and some mission work that's being started with them. Pray that God would provide a missions-driven businessman/woman who would be willing to take this ministry on financially. These projects cost bookoo dollars but God's not one to be stingy. There's an oportunity to continue doing this for various other mission-works around the world. Pray! Pray! Pray!

    Live. Glory. Shout. Abandon!
