28 Day Prayer Journey To Passion 07 - Day 6

Day 6. 605.

If you've been around the Passion 07 Live Link or the Podcast you've heard us talking about South Dakota...our nation's 40th state. And why all the SD talk? We have almost 21,000 people registered for 07 from 49 states and 31 nations, but no one representing "the 605"--South Dakota's only area code. We have discovered we have people coming who are South Dakotans, but they are now outside the state and headed our way from other places in the US.

So, we've stopped asking where the SD people are and decided we should be praying for the campuses and students there. And for us, South Dakota has come to represent many places throughout the nation that won't be as visible in Atlanta. Would you take some time today to pray for students on the following campuses:

Augustana College, Black Hills State University, Dakota State University, Dakota Wesleyan University, Northern State University, Oglala Lakota College, South Dakota School of Mines and technology, South Dakota State University, University of Sioux Falls, University of South Dakota.

As we pray for students in SD, let's keep spreading the word about Passion 07 and bring more people along with us. And let's be willing to reach SD with the story of God.

Father, we know You are alive and well throughout South Dakota. Inspire leaders of the church there and raise up a wave of students filled with the hope and power of Jesus. For His fame in SD, Amen.

“Everyone who calls, ‘Help, God!’ gets help.” But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it? That’s why Scripture exclaims, ‘A sight to take your breath away! Grand processions of people telling all the good things of God!’” Romans 10:13-15 The Message

PS-Great job on the comments for our Staff/Team and Team Leads Yesterday! Thanks and keep praying!

  • Louie,

I will pray for Black Hills State University! Since I am fron MN.I always see South Dakota plates on the road, just yesterday one was along side me at a red light, I instantly started to pray. Maybe since it has been so cold in these neck of the woods they just need some good ol` warming up with lots of Gods love and our prayers for them!! It is amazing that they do have so many colleges.

The doors of Gods heart and ours are open wide to you, South Dakota... run thru !! Come and see what the Lord has in store for you, as you embrace Him at Passion 07`.

  • I just listened to the latest podcast... and I wanted to thank you for listening to God's direction to touch this city especially while we are there for four days.
That is one of the things that did not sit right with me about the last passion conference...
the hundreds of homeless people in the streets... who had food given to them... but that's about it.

A group of my friends and I had a several hour long conversation with several homeless men after the shane and shane concert in nashville, and we invited one of them to talk and hang out with us more over the next several days of passion. At the end, the leader of my group actually ended up getting this guy hooked up with a recovery program and way for an education to get out of the rut he was in. In those few early hours of the morning when our hearts couldn't contain the glory of God, and our bodies were longing for sleep, was one of the most powerful experiences I had at the passion conferences.

We often don't realize how much power we have as a body of Christ, to affect the lowliest of society who Christ is in love with...
    especially when we come together.

All to say I am completely stoked for this opportunity to reach atlanta... I am completely stoked about this opportunity and pray that all who are attending this conference will have their hearts and minds stretched to catch a glimpse of the power and wideness of the Kingdom. From Atlanta to Africa and everywhere in between...

  • My King,
I come before you in earnest plea for the hearts of South Dakota. Please spread your hands over the state, over the Christians there, over the Churches, over the campuses. Send workers who can join what you are already doing in this state. Father, please come in power and save the souls of your children in South Dakota! These things I ask in your name, for the splendor of you to be known and spread! Amen

  • hi everyone! hi ashley!

I am fine and waiting for responses. this week I hope I can mark my hearing at US embassy. I pray that God sends some miracle...
Thanks for keeping on praying. That makes me feel "not alone"... God is making me understand that we are a BIG INTERNATIONAL FAMILY in Him and not only the ones I personally know.
Thanks a lot! God bless y'all!

Mr. Giglio-- I was thinking and I got to the point that here in Brazil the strong part of evangelism groups exists only in High Schools. The Universities here are rich of knowledge and poor of Christ, even though those universities are full of Christians! That's a big problem.

Please, pray for my country and its universities and colleges! I'll pray for SD!

HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL IN JANUARY!

  • Can I just say what an encouragment this blog has been to me?!?! I mean really you guys!!

After Louie wrote the "Feet" post i was a little nervous to say anything at all about my "feet" but then i was reading all the responses people were giving. I was so afraid b/c sometimes i feel like i love God soo much yet i do some of the most dumbest things and i feel like the only one who feels like that!! It was nice to knwo that i wasn't alone.

And then to hear about rodrigo and everyone saying they will pray and everyone praying for everyone.. YALL!! GET PUMPED!!! This is soo the body of Christ and it amazes me!! I love it!! God is totally using the internet and this blog for his glory.. HOW AMAZING!!

Thank you guys so much for being a constant reminder of Gods love!! You guys really ROCK!!

  • Rodrigo, we live on the other side of the world to you and yet you touch our hearts with you love for and trust in the Lord Jesus.

I feel so humbled to be small part of this amazing community of faith, the world wide Body of Christ.

We'll keep praying for you and if you make it to Atlanta, I for one want to see you there!!!

  • Today's prayer journey hits close to home, or I should say close to the track. Today I had a track meet, and one of the schools that I competed against was South Dakota State University.

Also, Northern State is in the same athletic confrence as me. I know many of thier track athletes and coaches, and I have often travel to meets at their school.

I will especially be in prayer for these two schools, and I will pray that Chirst will use myself and members of my team, as a witness to their athletes.

  • Thank you for praying for my state!! I grew up in South Dakota and went to university there for a year. It's incredible to see people from around the country and world praying for the lives of students at the universities in SD!!!

As an update...students in South Dakota are alive and well. Several friends of mine work with college ministries in South Dakota and are seeing students passionate about the glory of God. At the same time, the percentages that Louie shares are true and can be applied to students in SD. Of course there are fewer students in SD, but there are still thousands of students going to sleep without experiencing intimate relationship with God.

Louie challenged students at OneDay '00 (my time as a college student) to consider going to a "less reached" place. Since then, I've always considered working with students in SD...perhaps this is the time to move home from Germany!!!

  • Praying for worship of Jesus to fill the courtyards and dorms at Oglala Lakota College! We all need you so much Lord. Help us not to live in ourselves but live because of your life. I have to be in You or I'm lost. Give me more love for You and for people even now as I have felt far away.
