Passion Loves Stockholm

I'm fairly certain we're going to say this seventeen times before this tour is over, but we're pretty bummed about leaving Stockholm today, a city we have grown to love with every passing hour. Our down time here has been great (don't miss East for sushi) and has given us some needed time to catch our breath before heading out today for a new continent and all that awaits in Sao Paulo, Brazil. And our time here has given us the chance to process a little of what has happened over the past few days. Just being in Stockholm a few days longer has affirmed everything about why God put Sweden on the World Tour, and we are praying the deposit He made Sunday night will, in fact, echo throughout the nation (and all of Scandinavia) so that these beautiful people will have a chance to glimpse His face and accept His lavish offer of grace and an embrace that lasts forever.

While much of our team is already in Brazil, we have a full day and night of travel ahead of us to join them. After a stop in lovely London (Heathrow), we have an overnight flight that will have us waking up to Sao Paulo. Hello, South America! We've said goodbye to Charlie Hall and his band and Matt Redman (they were amazing) and will meet up with the Crowders in SP. Pray for our Passion team as they make final preparations there...and, as always, for the word to spread as the "last minute" people find out about Passion Sao Paulo and stake their places.

Thank you Stockholm for allowing us to join what God is doing here (and forgive the pic of the Latvian flag, we know it wasn't Passion Riga, though we loved those guys, too). We are carrying this night and all your prayers with us on our way.

We are humbled to be on this journey and know your hearts are with us (we can feel it).
Louie

  • Where can I get the Russian lyrics to the song. We want to use some of them in our service, but want to use the lyrics everyone else has.

    especially:
    Let God Arise
    Sing Sing Sing
    God of this City

  • Louie, I received a forward from my almost 75 yr old mom about how I gotta hear this preacher(on a You Tube site). Her words to me and yours about the connective protein shaped like a cross, well the Lord washed over me as I sat on my couch reading and listening. it all prompted me to worship Him for His incomprehensible, unfathomable love and magnificence; the best kind when He causes His creation to spontaneously praise Him. How weak and frail is my speak of gratitude to Him compared to His efforts for me were, are and will be in my life. I don't know where you all are at this moment with Passion, but you have our continual prayers Love, in Christ, Mrs. Cindy B. Louisville KY

  • It's almost embarrassing because I always have tears after reading the blog or listening to the podcast because God is so amazing and so good! The stories bring such joy to my heart. It is amazing to think of the ripples this amazing journey is going to have around the world. Praying for all the cities and can't wait to hear about Sao Paulo. :)

  • Thanks so much, Louie, for the updates, the podcast, and the pictures! I am a 3-time volunteer with the Passion conferences and God caught me up in the current of what He is doing through the Passion movement - spreading His fame and glorifying Himself! My heart and prayers are with you from Ft. Myers, FL!

p.s. Yesterday, I just got back the Indescribable DVD from an acquaintaince I had lent it to. She said she and her husband were both incredibly moved by the message of God's amazing love.

  • Louie @ Passion,
You all are living the Great Commission in such a bold way through this world tour and I praise God for the vision and passion that you have for reaching students for Christ. Continue running the race - don't lose heart!

The podcasts are incredibly helpful in allowing me to feel more a part of this incredible journey - thank you for the updates!

Brasil is ripe for The Harvest - I pray that you not only get the chance to sow, but also to reap abundantly.

  • Hi Louie & the whole Passion team!

I know a lotta people have said this already but THANKS so much for finding time to keep us on the loop about how the World Tour is going. Like you said in 1 of the podcasts, it is absolutely great to see & hear how our prayers are being answered =) I'm glad to be a part of the Passion movement even in a small way cuz after LA, I know what the conference can do in the hearts of students all over the world.

Glad to hear that you guys get some down time somehow to enjoy the beauty of the city you're in. Hope that you guys are getting enough rest as you travel from city to city.

See you in Manila & Vancouver (and hopefully Jakarta)!

both hearing and then seeing what God is doing really gets me pumped up for Jesus...

like I said in the myspace comment the other day, thanks for going to these places for us. It's amazing to see how we contributed at Passion '07 and the regionals and here is what comes from that giving...

  • You will love South America! I´ll pray for you and they time you will spend there. Your music and gospel encouraged and touched me deeply in Stockholm. I envy the Brasilians, as I also pray that they, with your guidance, will meet Christ and experience a total change in their lives, face towards Jesus.
    Be blessed in your ministry!

  • Passion Riga!!! I love idea! I was estatic when I saw the picture of the Latvian girls praying for their country!!! I think God is about to do some huge stuff in that little Eastern European country. He's showing people where it is and bringing it to their attention!!! How incredible is it that 50 Latvians got to go to Passion Stockholm!!! So exciting. What are the chances of making Passion Riga happen?

    I LOVE Latvia!!!

  • Thank you for the work you are doing and thank you for visiting Sweden. We enjoyed having you :). May our faithful Lord continue to be with you throughout the tour.

P.S Something funny about the night in Stockholm. Louie tried to find out where we were all from, and concluded there were people from different countries but not all of them had come to Sweden specifically for the sake of Passion. He said, "I don't mean if you're from Zimbabwe living in Sweden." - Guess what, that was a description of me! :) kinda cool

    Blessings

  • Louie & the passion team,

Thank you for spreading the good news of our RISEN LORD! We may not all be able to go around the world to spread the news but that should never stop any of us of telling others about the wonderful grace that has been given to us...

As you go around the world you are even enabling one like me to spread the word as I tell others about the Passion WT. The impact is far reaching...

    Thank You!

  • Our prayers go with you to Sao Paulo!!! May God continue to strengthen you as the Passion Team prepares to share HIS story of love & grace. Thank you for sharing the many awesome pics and stories of what God is doing. I know it continually reminds us to stay focused on what is really important... HIS STORY...

  • Just listened to the Podcast - most excellent! It's amazing to hear the worship echoing around the world. I was blown away to hear the students in KYIV shout out when Jesus' name was spoken - no interpretation needed!!
To quote Isaiah 55:11, "So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it".

Praying for more in San Paulo and beyond...

  • Hey Louie, Shelley and World TEAM,

I am so happy that you guys got to rest and enjoy the sights of the city (Didn't expect Sushi in Sweden - bet it was better than here in the STATES - ha-ha).

Still praying and expecting greater things for Sao Paulo, Brazil- Again that God' presence be made known and that poeple will grasp the idea of God's great Mercy love and grace for their lives! Staying tuned for more updates....

    God Bless,

  • Louie and the Passion team,
We are keeping you in our prayers as you travel. It's so unbelievable to think the world tour has finally come and I'm so excited for ya'll!!

I know that this doesn't have to deal directly with Passion, but let's also keep Steven Curtis Chapman's family in our prayers. I know a lot of the Passion team is connected with Steven.

  • Hey Louie,

I am listenting to your podcast and I was compelled to come and read some comments here as I am sooo encouraged to hear how God is using Passion to reach students accross the nations! It's funny that although I'm in my mid-30's and listening to you at work that I am able to feel like I can be a part of what ya'll are doing around the world. I'll continue to pray for each city that God will become famous!!!

    Loving Passion!!!

P.S. I was at a friends youth group in LA last week and the worship leader sang God of this City and to hear those kids sing out blessed my heart...it's such a great song!

  • and sthlm loves passion...louie, so great to meet you after all these years of following passion and watching God work miracles before our eyes. i thank God for hearing my prayers that started back in 2005 for passion to come here to sthlm and that i was not only here to see it happen but that i was privileged to work with one incredible, Jesus-loving team!

God has begun and will continue to do amazing things here in this city that is so spiritually dark and cold (and, well, let's face it, quite often physically as well), and we thank YOU for being a part of that work! we're already seeing the fruits of it, and we wait in great anticipation to see even more! bring it, Jesus!!

carrie, misty, and matt...never gonna forget you guys or the crazy times we had together. come back REALLY soon. we're calling all missionaries from around the world you know! we need you!

  • Thank you for going to Sweden. I was there 10years ago. My great- grandfather was a minister there in the early 1900's but when I visited there, there were only about 7 people who were attending a gigantic church in the small town I was visiting. Sweden has been on my heart ever since, you are an answer to years of prayer, God Bless You.

  • Ever masturbate with the thoughts of someone else besides Jesus in your head? That is why the goal of passion is to make Jesus the most famous name in your life. There isn’t a car ride or a conversation, a bite to eat or a sip to drink, or a single entertaining thing out there not waiting to give us the choice of whether or not we have Him in mind first and foremost. He created everything there is. Nothing exists that He didn’t make.-Homeless John 1:3. Every step we give. Every thought we take. Every second of the day is HIS. What are you going to do with Jesus next? “What do you mean, if I can’t?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”
