London faces.

Well, five days have gone by since our post-London blog. Kinda weird, huh? Shelley and I headed back to Paris for a few days and have now arrived home to Atlanta. Re-entry has been a little strange after being on the go for almost a month, but we are happy to be home. (Driving for the first time in four weeks was a strange sensation!). But even though we are thousands of miles away from London, and Kyiv seems like forever ago, we are very much living and breathing the first six amazing cities we have visited and still stunned by what we have seen and experienced.

Back at the Passion House the countdown to Manila is on and plans for Leg 2 are in full swing. But how can we forget the incredible faces of new friends in Ukraine, Stockholm, SP, Kampala, Paris or the UK? Every few seconds I find my mind wandering back to one of the unforgettable moments of the past four weeks and I'm overwhelmed by a sense of gratitude that God allowed us to be a part of what he is doing around the globe.

It's been pretty cool talking to people who have been following the blog and podcasts each step of the way. Just by the expression on their faces I could tell that many of you really did make this trip with us even though you never left home. Thank you for praying for us each step of the way. We have a long way to go and much to trust God for as we look toward the next 11 cities. And we still really need your prayers, even though we are home. I am praying Isaiah 52:12b (and 58:8) for our whole team, as well as all those who were a part of these first six events. "For the LORD will go before you, And the God of Israel will be your rear guard."

Happy to be part of a worldwide movement!
Louie

  • I check the blog every single day and I rejoice in the work that God has been doing in all these places. I just finished reading Francis Chan's book 'Crazy Love' and I cannot help but think how God changed my life at Passion DC in Feb. I think about Sam often and the call she made to go preach the gospel in China. I was telling myself that it was hard enough to learn English after my parents immigrated to the states from Bolivia, but if I want to make a difference in China, I should learn Chinese. I want to live to make Jesus' name famous and look beyond my circumstances. I know thousands of lives have been changed and touched by Passion and I want you to know that the passion for Christ is only growing! Can't wait to hear more about what is going on in the world! =)

  • Hi Louie!
It's so good to hear from you again; I think we all got spoiled during the tour with the constant updates :). Thank you so much for the beautiful pictures! They bring back so many memories just for me- I can't imagine what they must do for you, having been there and experienced it. God is wonderful to allow us to join Him like He so often does! But we are glad to have you back here in America for a few weeks, and my heart and prayers are still with you all: that each day would be blessed with renewed strength and a fresh glimpse of His vision. Please keep the blogs and prayer guides and podcasts coming as you get a chance so that we can know how to join you all in prayer (and in other way if needed). You and Shelley and the whole Passion Team are SO appreciated and very much loved!
    Because of Jesus,
    Christis Joy

P.S. Thanks especially for the picture of the Watoto Children on the podcast- they were great! And I don't think "Uncle Chris Tomlin" ever lead worship for a more special group of people.

  • Hi Louie!
I've been following the World Tour through the blog and the podcasts ever since I attended Passion ATL this year. Been spreading the word to my hometown of Fairbanks Alaska about what amazing things God is doing with your team. Word is getting around the US and the world (Alaska is waiting for a Passion AK haha), and what God is doing is truely unbelieveable. You all will be in my prayers, and I look forward to trying to take a break from Georgia Tech in October to attend Mexico City! God bless you and your team! Praise God!

  • I was once part of a traveling ministry team. In a rural area a friend and I continued to direct the driver, "Keep going!!" We ended up in a 15 passenger van stuck on a dried mud path trying to do a U-turn. Hopefully this comment won't egg you on to that means, but...

    "KEEP GOING!!!!!"

    The voice of truth

Oh,what I would do to have (oh, o que eu teria que fazer pra ter)

the kind of faith it takes (o tipo de fé para)

To climb out of this boat I'm in (sair desse barco que estou)

Onto the crashing waves (em direção ao das ondas se quebrando)

To step out of my comfort zone (para pisar fora da minha zona de conforto)

Into the realm of the unknown (em direção ao desconhecido)

Where Jesus is, (onde Jesus está)

And he's holding out his hand (e Ele está¡ estendendo sua mão)

But the waves are calling out my name (mas as ondas estao chamando meu nome)

and they laugh at me (e elas riem de mim)

Reminding me of all the times (me lembrando todas as vezes)

I've tried before and failed (que eu tentei antes e falhei)

The waves they keep on telling me (as ondas continuam me dizendo)

time and time again (varias vezes)

"Boy, you'll never win, (Cara, voce nunca vencerá¡)

you'll never win." (voce nunca vencerá)

But the voice of truth tells me a different story (Mas a Voz da Verdade me conta uma historia diferente)

the voice of truth says "do not be afraid!" (A voz da verdade me diz "Nao temas")

and the voice of truth says "this is for my glory" (e A Voz da Verdade diz "isto é pra minha gloria")

Out of all the voices calling out to me (mais alto que todas as vozes me chamando)

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth (eu escolherei ouvir e acreditar na voz da verdade)

Oh, what I would do (oh, o que eu faria)

to have the kind of strength it takes (o tipo de força para)

To stand before a giant (me levantar diante de um gigante)

with just a sling and a stone (com uma funda e uma pedra)

Surrounded by the sound (rodeado pelo som)

of a thousand warriors (de milhares de guerreiros)

shaking in their armor (balançando nas suas armaduras)

Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand (desejando ter tido aquela força pra se levantar)

But the giant's calling out (mas o gigante esta gritando)

my name and he laughs at me (meu nome e ri de mim)

Reminding me of all the times (me lembrando todas as vezes)

I've tried before and failed (que eu tentei antes e falhei)

The giant keeps on telling me (o gigante continua me dizendo)

time and time again (varias vezes)

"Boy you'll never win, (cara, voce nunca vencerá¡)

you'll never win." (voce nunca vencerá¡)

But the voice of truth tells me a different story

the voice of truth says "do not be afraid!"

and the voice of truth says "this is for my glory"

Out of all the voices calling out to me

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

but the stone was just the right size (mas a pedra era justamente do tamanho)

to put the giant on the ground (para por o gigante no chao)

and the waves they don't seem so high (e as ondas nao parecem tao altas)

from on top of them looking down (se vistas de cima delas)

i will soar with the wings of eagles (eu subirei com asas de aguias)

when i stop and listen to the sound of Jesus (quando eu parar e ouvir o som de Jesus)

singing over me (cantando sobre mim)

But the voice of truth tells me a different story

The voice of truth says do not be afraid

And the voice of truth says this is for my glory

Out of all the voices calling out to me (calling out to me)

I will choose to listen and believe (I will choose to listen and believe)

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

I will listen and believe (eu ouvirei e acreditarei)

I will listen and believe the voice of truth (eu ouvirei e acreditarei na voz da verdade)

I will listen and believe (eu ouvirei e acreditarei)

'Cause Jesus you are the voice of truth (porque Jesus, Tu és a Voz da Verdade)

And I will listen to you.. oh you are ( e eu ouvirei a Ti, oh, Tu és)

  • Hello Giglio, Chan, Tomlin and guys of Passion!
I also haven't forgotten those amazing moments of grace and glory in Sao Paulo at Via Funchal. God have spoken to me through you guys! Some simple principles that we christians think we know very well but commonly forget...
I want to say that I started to love this ministry since I've met this at Via Funchal. I'm listening your podcast everywhen I can and I will pray until the final of the World Tour!
Cos'"Greater things are still to be done!"
Finally, I don't know if you can answer this post, but I felt very excited when you mentioned that some of yours are from Houston, because I will stay there few days on August beginning, and I'd love so much to visit the church in there. It's a great opportunity that I wouldn't like to miss...
Praise God! That God bless you!

  • Hi Louie. There is a word in Portuguese: SAUDADE...
When I say - SAUDADE of your posts
It means something like: I REALLY miss your posts. ( with caps lock!!!!)
Your last sentence is what I feel every time i read something new here and see any of the pictures:
HAPPY TO PART OF A WORLDWIDE MOVEMENT.
I really mean it! \Specially when it is about a movement guided by HIM, giving all the glory To HIM...
CAn't wait to hear more and more...and to see the next 11chapters of this book written !!!!
It is like adding some pages to the book of ACTS,in the Bible. It is amazing!!!! God is alive and keeps touching hearts and souls all over!!
    Love,

  • PASSION 07 & 08 began a stirring in my son's heart to listen to God's voice about serving. He just left for the Philippines for the summer (his seatmate to Hong Kong was Chris Tomlin's band member). God is good-He knew my child (Bob) needed a Christian friend on that trip! Thank you for PASSION and for your obedience. I attended both years in Atlanta (it keeps me young!) I am sure he is trying to figure out how to stay in Manila!! He flies home on july 31st. We are praying for a PASSION to sweep the lands to make JESUS FAMOUS! Please pray for Bobby!! We are praying for PASSION!

  • I've been catching up on the podcast (currently I think Chris being "Uncle Chris Tomlin" and Louie being "Luigi" are the funniest parts) and I have been praying for the students who were at all the events.

I was talking to my sister, however, and we were discussing that we know you guys are learning certain verses of songs (like God of this City) and we want to learn them too! Is there anyway you could put a video of how to say a few things for each of the cities on the second leg of the tour?

Lastly, we also think this would be a GREAT opportunity for a pre-second leg live link. We are praying for you guys at the Passion house, and all the students, but it would be sweet to pray with you guys too.

  • Louie...
I lead worship for a Church in Romeo, MI, and I recently led a team on mission for Ireland. We spent most of our time in a rough area near Dublin called Ballymun. As we met with a local fellowship of believers there we knew the song to sing over the city and all of Ireland...
Greater things are yet to come
Greater things are still to be done

As we sang that beautiful anthem over Dublin, we were blown away by how great God is, and it's always a bit of a good thing to remember how this love revolution we are a part of... it's so bigger than us.

    greater things...

  • Happy Birthday, Louie! I was so excited to hear the news you shared on the podcast. It'll be great to see what God has in store as you continue to follow His lead and spread His fame!

  • Hey!! Happy Birthday, Louie!
There's a whole lot of us out here that are really joyful that God created you!(even if it does sound corny:)
The new podcast was wonderful!! I am so excited about what God is leading you and Shelley to do... God's plans are mind-blowing at times!
Don't worry I haven't forgotten about the world tour - I will still be praying!!

For the One who was and is and is to come!!!!

P.S.Hey - I'm entering college this fall and thought it sort of ironic that the 3 middle digits of my new student ID number are 268 = ) Great reminder for me about what it's all about - and Who it's all for!

  • Well I've been listening to the podcasts from the world tour and I'm so moved by hearing the sound of a generation taking a stand in making the name of Jesus famous on every continent, and in this whole world and following Him in word and deed.

So last saturday I was at a night of worship, organized by Matt Redman and Hillsong London in Zwolle, the Netherlands as part of the 'Take it to the streets' tour. There were about 4.000 of us in a big conference hall singing and shouting Gods praise.

And just as we've heard form all over the world, there is a generation in the Netherlands too that want to make Jesus famous and shout His praise in our cities, in our nation, at our schools and universities, at our offices...

Want to know what that sound like? Here's the soundclip I captured with my mobile phone...

    WOW!!!
