Connected-First Monday-July

Hopefully, summer is going well for everyone. I'm sitting in an airport in ATL on the way to a week-long conference with about 6000 teenagers and can't wait. For June's First Monday we were smack in the middle of Europe and the first leg of the World Tour and we were connected daily as we prayed and watched God do what only He can do. That, too, will be the case in August when First Monday will find us between KL and Jakarta. But for today, we rally here, and join our voices from places all around the globe. Knowing that many of you have planted for the summer in some remote place for the sake of His fame, while others are close to home or on campus packing in some extra hours, it's amazing to know we are all stopping here together, connected by the Spirit that leads us in a story so much bigger than ourselves.

16 (2+6+8) Prayer Points For July

1. Let's just stop and thank God. What was a dream eighteen months ago has become sight and we have six incredible World Tour stops to be thankful for.

2. Think back to Kyiv and pray for the churches, leaders and students of Ukraine (and all the nations that were a part of that night). Pray the seed of hope calling people to lives that are about Jesus will flourish even more.

3. Thank God for the glimmering light that shines in Stockholm, and pray for expanded vision for an emerging generation of Jesus followers.

4. Pray for the students of Sao Paulo, that their zeal will translate into action and their hopes for their nation will be realized.

5. Ask God to continue to stir the hearts of a wave of Ugandan students who have seen a glimpse of the future and been called to a deeper faith.

6. Pray for Paris, that the few will become a movement that cannot be stopped.

7. Continue to remember the students who were with us in London, and ask that their influence will grow and sweep through the UK for His fame. Pray that unity will be fostered and oneness will make their anthem louder.

8. Thank God that what was a $3.5 million need is now down to a $1.8 million need. God is providing. We believe. Wow!

9. We are days away from Manila. Ask God to cause the news to reach the nation and prepare the way for a night that will alter history.

10. We are excited about being in Malaysia a few days after Manila. Pray for the church in Kuala Lumpur and those who are sacrificing to make Jesus known there. Pray all we do will build up His Church and inspire a new generation.

11. Ask God to pave the way by His Spirit as we head to Indonesia, the largest populated nation of Muslims on earth. Pray for a supernatural wave of grace and truth to mark all we do.

12. We are excited to get back to South Africa, after a brief stay in the Johannesburg airport on leg one. Pray for Jo'Burg, for the unity of the Church to be strong and for students to catch a vision for what "can be" as God leads this generation to live for His glory.

13. Cape Town is a gorgeous and challenged city, with stunning beauty and stark poverty. Pray our hearts will be impacted and our time there will unleash something so powerful that the fruit of this night will be evident for decades to come.

14. Pray for our staff team and volunteers that are working hard on the above events and on those to come in October. We are seeing strong response in Sydney and Mexico as people have just been able to reserve their spots for these events.

15. While the World Tour is moving full speed, we have many other projects rolling along at the Passion House. Pray for wisdom and multiplication of effort and impact as we seek to influence this generation.

16. Look around you and pray for ANOTHER ministry, team, band, church, staff than your OWN. You'll find yourself closer to the Kingdom when you pray for someone else and their efforts and rejoice that The Story is going strong all over the world

  • Louie, Passion Team-
In two days I am headed to Ukraine. I will fly into Kiev and then be about 2 hours west of there for 2 weeks.
I prayed for you guys before and while you where there, can I ask the same from you?
Ukraine is a special place to me, I love it so much. We are having camp/vbs thing for about 50 village kids and some will already know the Lord, but some will not.
One of the young ladies going and myself will be introducing them to "God of this City". I can not wait.
Please pray we can touch the lives of these children so they can take it back to their homes and villages. The villages are completely different than Kiev. Many villages don't even have any type of church at all.

THanks guys and God bless you and your continued journeys around the world.

Oh and P.S.- Texas misses Chris and the guys already. :)

    Thanks

    "Yannochka"

  • This isn't really related to this blog, but I just felt like I should tell you this...I watched the Indescribable videos recently and did some calculations...Ya know when God says He measures the heavens with the span of His hand...well it turns out that our solar system relative to the size of the universe is approximately the same as HALF AN ELECTRON relative to the size of the average man's hand! We are that small! Remember that the next time you get a little static shock!

I really hope you come back to SA soon so that I can catch you guys next time round. You and your team's DVDs have honestly changed both mine and my fiance's ideas on a lot of things.

I will be praying for your and your teams safety when you're in South Africa.

  • Firstly, praying for all that Passion is doing and all the people connected with the WT.Then remembering the youth of the cities visited so far. May the time at Passion have been life changing and may they be living lives that reflect their Saviour.

Point 16 says to pray for another church and band. As I type 60,000 Catholic youth are gathering in Melbourne in preparation for next week's World Catholic Youth Day in Sydney.Someone interviewed on TV asked that all pray for an out pouring of the Holy Spirit during the week where 120,000 overseas visitors will join with Aussie youth to worship God.

Also Matt Maher is leading worship singing at gatherings around the country. We can pray that the Holy Spirt leads Matt in bringing the youth into the presence of our glorious God.

  • Hey Mr. Giglio!

I just got home from Student life in Daytona and I thought you were absolutely fantastic. I cried when I heard Ashley's story and also when you hugged the senior in high school that lost his mother to internal bleeding.

I wanted to just let you know that God is using you in so many amazing ways. I dedicated my life 100 % to him and I'm going to start doing mission work.

My name is Bethany and I'm 16 years old and I live in Winter Haven, Florida.

  • Hello Mr. Giglio my name is Cody Kinney and I attended student life this summer at Daytona, and I finally got it! I saw you last year at Bigstuff, but I didn't get it then. I just would like to thank you for pouring into my life so profoundly and perparing me for the bottom to fall out, because it didn't take ten minutes when I got home for it to happen. I cried out to God, wept, and prayed not for me but my step father who seems to have no hope in anything, that says that all praying has done for him is give him sore knees. My heart aches for him, I just want him to not look down at the present but look to the cross and have faith at what God is going to do in the future if he only has faith. Both me and my mother are active at our church (Lifepoint in Wilmington, NC) but My heart breaks when I see my mother sitting alone in service. I mean me a 17 year old kid has in the past two years served God at my church and became the leader for video and lighting at my church, but my heart breaks because I love my stepfather so much and it kills me that he has no hope. All I can do is pray, and I hope that you would pray for him also. I know you are a busy man doing God's work, but please pray for him that he recieves the hope of the cross that you instilled in me. I know you might not read this but whoever does please e-mail me(DiveBomber75@aol.com) and let me know that they are praying for my stepfather, please I am not writing this for my story to be told I want my stepfather to feel the love of God. I'll be praying for you guy's on the world tour and the church plant.

  • I'm not sure if this is what you were talking about when you said your blog, but I've been looking for 2 hours and cant find anything else. Um My name is Tiffany Ewan and I also went to Student Life At The Beach. I don't think you'll ever really read this. I know you're really busy and all. But I just wanted to say that this was my third and last year at the camp and God has done so much in my life. 2 years ago when I first heard of you I came to camp when you did the space talk. I was in a very bad place in my life and was planning to jump off the 6th floor balcony halfway into camp. I was in such a low part of life I didn't even want to wait. But somehow He got ahold of me and didn't let go. I made it back the next year when it was not your talk but I had stopped the suicidal thoughts. Last year at camp though I was still very big into self mutilation (a 6 year addition) and caused myself much pain over the course of that week. Then He collided with me and I made it back this year to hear you again. I praise God everyday. I went from ready to kill myself to gorifying Him in 3 years when even my mental doctor people swore I was going to have to deal with it for over 10-15 before getting better. I made the radical decision to follow Him completely and He started to reveal to me His will for my life. I came home to my broken home like I did the last 2 years but this time there was something different. I have God given inner peace and shared what I got out of camp with 5 of my closest friends and we are starting an online bible study to reach out to those who don't get out much. Again I know you probably won't read this, but I just felt Him tugging on my heartstrings to write something. My email is phroneo_christou@verizon.net
so if you feelt Him tugging on yours I guess there you go.

  • Tiffany,
thanks for sharing your journey with all of us who read this blog. it's such an encouragement to know what God is revealing and doing in your life - it's a lot - never let go of that!

"They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is LORD of Lords and KING of kings-and with Him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers." Revelation 17:14

  • Louie,

Thanks for the prayer topics, I am new to the blog area and new to the whole "268 generation" thing actually. I listened to you Indescribable DVD a little more than a year ago and just loved it! I have since finished College, and gotten married and moved to South Korea! All those events took place within 2months of each other. I turned 21 last month.
I was asked to fill in preaching for the small English Service I attend here in Gumi South Korea, and I have been doing that for about 8 weeks now. I Love preaching! it is my calling, more so Youth Ministry, but this has been a great way for God to allow me to "Get my feet wet". I'm telling you this because I want to say thank you! Thank you for your passion for Christ and the Greatness of the God we serve! I just finished a book called "Passion for Jesus" by Mike Bickle, it was all about how much God Loves us!, then I started reading "Let the Nations Be Glad" by John Piper. Thee thoughts of these two book combined are powerful. So God was working out me, and in my heart screaming "I am great!" In Matthew Jesus told his disciples, "What I whisper in your ear, proclaim from the rooftop, so I did. I remembered what you said about God's creation (well I guess not really YOU, but you get it). I remember the impact of the visuals of galaxies and starts had on me. So, because I have a Korean audience with "lacking" English skills, I thought what better ways to convey his Glory than to show them. It was awesome! Because HE is awesome! Thank you for the incredible examples and message you bring of God's wonderful power and might. I learned so much from you and have seriously been encouraged to tell people truly how GREAT GOD IS!!! Praise God for Passion and 268 the ministry there is something else! Thanks again to you and all the guys from Passion!

  • Louie-

Our hearts are broken for the students in Brazil. I lived there for a short time and will never forget the people there. We will be praying.

I was sitting on the floor on the last night of Student Life camp on Friday. I'm a youth pastor who was praying for the hearts of her students when God used your message to knock her over with grace. I faced a really dark year in ministry last year and the way you showed love toward Ashley, the student in the crowd, and your obedience to the message really encouraged me--if Chris had a blog, I would thank him too. Keep shining bright...

  • I will definitely continue to be praying for Passion as they prepare for the 2nd part in the World Tour! While I am from Georgia, I am currently in Spain for 7 weeks this summer. I really wish Passion could come here because it is so obvious the people need a huge dose of JESUS!!! However, in the meantime I have been praying for them and doing my best to be the hands and feet of Jesus (and Passion). :) The song that continuously comes to mind is "God of This City," I wonder why? ;) Thank you Passion for being a part in giving me a heart for the world and reaching the world for the Glory of our Amazing Savior!!

  • What an awesome testimony! We just returned from Daytona. We took over 60 teens from our youth group. When we returned home our kids and leaders gave their testimonies to our church. The responses have been overwhelming. All ages of our congregation have said how that one service and seeing the kids "on fire" and "wanting to make Jesus famous" impacted them in a might way. We had seven people in our church make decisions for Christ after the kids spoke! Please pray for our kids as they now walk the walk in Lake Placid, Florida. Thank you for your committment to Christ, Renee' aka: Game Girl FBC

  • Louie, I I went with Jsmintl.org to Jo burg in June 07 and I'm about to give you the best advice you've ever received. There is an incredible restaurant I believe called Maya. I'll describe it for your contacts in case I got the name wrong. It's in a really nice area. They have tribal musicians and face painters come to your table, and it's designed like your going into a gold mine. The Filet was the best steak I've ever had by a wide margin. Thanks for all you do.
