The Survivors
Though few, there are some surviving wristbands out there. Looks and sounds like the Purple band's got something going on...a little extra something or another. But Maroon, Black and Silver are not to be denied! It's great hearing back from you guys. We are working on a little something special for the person who makes it the longest without assistance from duct tape, etc...and who is not doing the slip it on-slip it off routine.
3500 wristbands are already spoken for for 07...pretty amazing given we are over seven months away. Praying now for you and for each one of them.

Cool pics. I wish I could be in this contest, but I don't have a wristband. I'll just start by seeing how long I can leave on other bands.
Thanks Louie!

haha thanks for calling out the duct tape Louie. I really did laugh out loud with that one.

i wish mine could have survived like that. but ducttape had to help me along.
i think playing the guitar with one on kinda kills it pretty quick..
maybe i should try the left hand then.

apparantly none of these people are hand models....

Man... there's a serious lack of representation for Aaron Coe and Jeffrey B. Scott's YELLOW group. I need to find a digital camera to remedy this problem. :)

How sad, my picture wasn't posted :( Ah well.
As for guitar playing, definitely put it on the left hand -- the only way to go! Having it on the right hand will get your guitar some major scratches, especially if you're a percussive acoustic player.
Darn, should've said that there was a longest-wearing-wristband contest or else I wouldn't have sawed mine off so nicely for safe-keeping ...
YAY! Go Christy//Nathan Nockels (Watermark) and Tim Hughes' community group! (What's our official colour's name? Maroon? Burgundy? Pink? ... )

I think the black ones last so long as a special reminder of how far we had to walk! Anyone agree with that?:)

"apparantly none of these people are hand models...."
haha how rude! my hand is the first TWO pictures!!! that's right i got two pictures up! haha jk, to all of those who were worried about my band falling off, i got ductape on it just in time so that i can still say its been on my arm the whole time, but guess i don't get to be apart of the contest anymore! :/ oh well!! the love for my band is still strong! she'll be happy to know her picture was up! ;) haha!

well i could care less if it scratches my guitar... the guitars already got some nicks in it, and as long as it still sounds the same, scratches are just character :-)
but i'm gonna have to put it on my left hand, even though my watch might get in the way. ahh! the decisions!

Go Purple!! Keep it going purple.
By Anonymous, at 4/24/2006 8:07 PM
I echo that -- yay for purple!!! We didn't even have to go outside to get to the arena :) My purple wristband lasted until the end of February, but I met a girl on campus with a purple band after mine came off and was excited to see hers still going strong.

I'm a proud member of Tim Hughes' community group! I think our official color is holographic silver?!?
For anyone interested you can go to iTunes and download Chris' performance from the GMA awards. Its awesome! Just like the one he did on the tour!

My (forest/dark green) wristband wasn't put on very well in the first place - i attached too loosely, so it was lucky to stay on my wrist during the conference. But I still have it on my nightstand, and I have last years wristband in my wallet. :-)
By Anonymous, at 4/26/2006 10:32 PM
YES!! representin' the "forest green" community group with Freddy T. Wyatt and Todd Fields!! Mine came off as soon as we got to Franklin. Some of the guys from my traveling group had their's on for months after the conference as a contest. The color on the leader's silver one started to come off so they just took 'em off before Thirsty.
